What the balls is going on with Tahm Kench?!

Somebody take pity on this estranged veteran.

I took a long break from League, I'm about to play tonight with some friends who play daily, and I don't want to embarrass myself. Usually Tahm Kench is my go-to.

But I just saw the patch notes. I am floored.

Did we unlock some secret power or playstyle that forced a rework of his W? Why would the Devs make enemy Devour so much more powerful than friendly Devour? This is the opposite of their past balance approach, but there must be a reason for something this drastic. Does Tahm have new interactions with items, or runes, or whatever? What does he build, how does he lane, how does he teamfight?

Any context at all would be great. I can't make any sense of this.

1: Thank you for your service. I Go to basic training on September 4th. Where'd you go/what's your MOS? 2: Tahm was stupid in pro play, and is in general a super cuck champion. They want his get your ADC out of jail for free pass a more appropriate cost.

Because the balance team is full of absolute baboons who thought about buffing Yasuo's AD scaling on his ultimate by 100% this patch when he is already consistently picked in pro play, yet Tahm Kench is getting hard nerfed for being a consistent pick in pro play and is receiving virtually no compensation.

Tahm has been nerfed for 2 years, his utility is just too damned good, they designed him really well unlike most supports. They have to keep nailing him down or he totally dominates.
