Why the Rylai's change scares me
Right now, it's amazing (and yet not oppressive) on Karthus. So this buff makes him just a little bit stronger.
Except you're already talking about nerfing it to oblivion afterwards, so that it's a 'meh' item on tons of champions, but not too strong on the champions who use it best, including Karthus.
I don't want a 'meh, i guess i could use this' item on 100 champs. I want an item that's uncommon but extremely to certain champions. Diversity. Karthus is one of those champions.
Xypherous talked about reducing the slow to 0.75 seconds to "balance" it out. I just want to clarify this for a second.
Currently, if Karthus skillfully lands single-target Q's, you can apply a 35% slow for 1.5 seconds.******** The nerf he mentioned would increase the slow from 35% to a 40% slow...at the cost of halving the slow time to 0.75 seconds.
That's Veigar-tier compensation. 5% extra slow, in exchange for halving the duration, and thus breaking his current ability to chain Q's with the slow.
I was excited about the Rylai's buffs, but now I'm just scared you'll make it worse for Karthus overall in the end. Not all of us want to build Rod of Ages and AFK farm like Nasus then press R. Some of us like his dueling Rylai's playstyle. Please, please just leave Rylai's as it is.
(Or, at the very least, ensure that it doesn't in any way get worse for Karthus.)
