What do you do if your main champion is part of the most hated role?

Seems like everyone dispises Marksman, and everyone is enjoying the diversity now that Marksman are practically almost never picked.

Sadly my favourite and my main champion falls into that Marksman category. I'm not really an ADC main but I really enjoy Varus. When ever I play him people are always toxic towards me just because i'm playing a ranged champion.

I don't play him because he's ranged I play him because of his kit theme, the Blight side of it all.

Play him in other lanes. Varus is known to be playable Mid lane. You might be able to get away with support role as well, depending on how you play.

Just because he can be played mid, doesn't change the fact that he's ranged nor does it change the fact that he's a marskman.

OP isn't worried about role. He's worried about the class of the champion.

OP says he likes Varus but can't seem to play him as Marksman because of the current botlane confusion. I hate the Marksman role, but Ashe support and Varus mid are two things i still currently play, and i'm not getting much flack from other players.

No? OP didn't say that at all?

OP said he's getting flak because he's playing a ranged champion.

Marksman isn't a role.

It's a class.

That's their roles.

Their class is still marksman.

Again, let me repeat what I said earlier,

OP isn't concerned about the role of his champ (top, bot mid etc.).

He's concerned about the CLASS of his champ (Marksman, Assassin, Mage etc.).

I guess the only thing you really can do is ignore them.

Ignore them. Don't hover your champion. No one bans Varus anyway. Then pick him when it's your turn unless the enemy picked him (it seldom happens).

I've been doing just that with Wukong bot. My allies talk shit about it in select. Then I do good in game. Post game, it's all 'Sorry I doubted you' and 'GJ Wu'.
