Can we change the damage cadence of Malzahar's Null Zone to 0.25 seconds instead of 1 sec?

By damage cadence, I mean how often the damage ticks. The damage per second would be kept the same, but it would just tick more frequently (at one-quarter damage per tick compared to live). Essentially, it'd be the same as what they did to the fountain's heal-per-second in the last patch.

Why? Makes the ability feel more satisfying for Malzahar and more threatening to his enemies.

I feel like that could work for a lot of DoT champs: DrMundo Teemo Swain Darius Singed all come to mind.

or anyone with an AoE ability like Sejuani Amumu Garen etc.,

Every DoT or HoT (including regen) should be on a .25 damage cadence.

Also, I know know what cadence means. Huzzah!

IIRC, item 3151 applies the first tick of it's damage immediately, so this would cause the initial tick of Liandry's Torment to occur every 0.25s as well. It could be a good option, but I think they would have to look into this interaction at the same time.

Said interaction wouldn't drastically increase Liandry's damage output because the proc doesn't stack.

It doesn't stack, but the damage may increase if the spell reapplies Liandry's Torment faster than the second tick would apply.

it would actually decrease liandry's damage if liandry's was calculated that way since it does current hp damage instead of max hp damage

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

IIRC, it's current health at the time the tick occurs, one when the Liandry's Torment burn is applied.

i think i misread it. i meant item 3151 would do less if Liandry's re-applied the damage every 0.25 seconds instead of every 1 second

Yeah Brand's dot/passive was changed to have longer intervals between ticks simply because of that

It kind of makes sense with a cc-less zone like that (and Morgana's) since there's nothing keeping players in them for full one second increments, but with standard dots it feels pretty unnecessary.

Point. It might be a small change in damage, but it should just be something to be aware of.

This would reduce counterplay and buff his poke a lot. I'm not sure it's necessary.

When space aids makes him the fisher price of champs for farming, no it really isn't necessary.

No.

Cuz fuck Malzahar, for no apparent reason.

sigh

Actually he MIGHT get some attention since he has a new skin coming up...

Malzahar has been sleeper OP for four seasons straight.

Anyone who actually builds HP (rod of ages, rylais or both, sometimes liandrys on top of it if no thornmail or banshees is needed) on him wrecks until and unless a different lane feeds, assassins don't counter him anymore and he pretty much lols at every other mid except a competent Brand... which is essentially a reskinned Malzahar anyway with less CC.

The only real concern is that you take slightly more damage the longer you stand in it technically since it only deals it every 1 second on live

Please please please

I feel they nerfed fiddlesticks by doing that, the damage doesn't feel like the same anymore. The enemy doesn't miscalculate it as often either, I wouldn't like them to do this to my malzahar for that very reason. :\
