I feel it gets forgotten too often but there are a variety of things that make someone "good".
Too often, players seem to associate good League play with mechanical skill. Landing skillshots, CS, reaction time, etc. But let's not forget that League (like any game of the genre) is a complex game with many ways to win.
For example: Shotcalling, map awareness and general game knowledge can occasionally trump raw mechanical skill. Sure, your jungler might miss his skillshots on occasion, but knowing where to be and what objective to take at the right time can certainly beat a player who is merely flexing his reaction speed up in top lane while you take your fourth dragon of the game.
Capability to remain positive is a good skill as well. All too often (yes, despite the "SNOWBALL FOREVER" meme), people give up at the first sign of trouble. Now I'm not saying the guy who is 0-12 at five minutes hanging in there is going to win you the game but being able to bounce back is a vital skill, especially in situations like tournaments where you sometimes have a best of 3/5 to work with.
Versatility is another thing. Sure, you can one-trick a single character to high ranks but being able to flex pick, play multiple roles/builds all to a competent or sometimes great degree can be more valuable than the one guy who has a 100% win rate on Master Yi and nothing else. It gives you options and lets that person work within several types of teams from siege comps to dive comps to "protect the <x>" comps.
Warding positions. Roaming abilities. Splitpush talent. etc.
All of these are things that can make a player good. Now, does this mean that player is always going to win? No. That guy might go against someone who counters his playstyle or he/she is put on a role they're not comfortable with. That's just life. However, it's important to remember that people can excel in many different categories. Pros just make you see someone who is incredible at several facets of the game to a high degree. Just remember that because sometimes that AFK splitpush Tryn wins you the game.
