Yasuo is the new Riven.

warpenguin555··187 votes·9,100 views

Nobody cares if hes strong or weak, nobody wants one on their team, nobody wants one on the enemy team, nobody wants to deal with the playerbase where 95% of them are completely toxic and will troll/ragequit if the game isnt going well for them. Literally the spitting image of Riven.

it's an unpopular opinion but i have actually met kind, friendly yasuo main players in diamond and platinum.

Damn, I guess it's just a dumb stereotype.

Not if FotM makes every tryhard rager play him.

He said Yasuo main.

Zaghyr13 votes

It's always a dumb stereotype. Especially for Riven. I myself am a Riven main but I'm never toxic, and it has been a very long time since I've seen another Riven in-game that was being toxic.

i agree im riven main myself im surprised how in some of my ranked im the only one who's not toxic i mean we're probably busy trying to win the game/lane maybe xD

I think as a whole the Riven community is so much better every since the struggles of the season. It pretty much culled everyone who played her for any "OP" factor, all that's left of us now are the truly dedicated.

I find a lot of Riven mains, myself I think included, do our best to make sure to be good people in game since now we've got to somehow fix our shoddy reputations left by jerks.

No, he's a bronze god, as in he is a very attractive tanned man.

dont forget:

  • stupid amounts of mobility

  • very low CDs

  • resourceless

  • insanely snowbally

  • massive lane bully

  • bs defensive shield while building all damage

Only thing Riven has on him is that she scales so hard with CDR and with her 2 hard CC plus COOLDOWN BASED SHIELD she can stack CDR and the more and more she has, the less window of time you have to deal damage to her. Because with her knockup, stun, and shield. At 45% CDR I only get about second to actually deal damage to her.

My thing is that Riven is near impossible to 1v1 vs due to her kit. Personally I'd remove the knockup. Then you have counterplay at least. Buff some AD ratios by a bit? Sure. Just make her less frustrating to fight.

General Levi6 votes

If riven is meant for 1v1s, then dont play into her strengths. Shouldn't have too much of a problem then

Enloct1 votes

"Just 2v1 them" as counterplay means a champion is overpowered.

That said, you can totally 1v1 riven.

General Levi2 votes

No, it means they are good at dueling. Would you try to 1v1 a udyr or a shyvana? They excel at 1v1's just means they are a good duelist

WolfChases26 votes

HO! He is worse than Riven ever was! He is all the same when it comes to toxicity but on top of that he makes that HASAGI HASAGI cancerous sounds every single second.

Melledoneus7 votes

I dunno, Yasuo's VO is awesome in English.

AWyldSylveon14 votes

Liam O'Brien is a great voice actor, but it kind of detracts from the experience when you hear it every two seconds.

Junkο2 votes

To be fair tho, if he didn't say it every 2 seconds then you could easily miss a cue to dodge especially if he decided to animation cancel (so you can't see his Q till it's usually too late) or during teamfights where you have to pay attention to a lot of other stuff.

macromite22 votes

champions like that attract the worst kinds of people.

AD manaless mobile low-cooldown fighters? Wonder why.

I'm just tired of seeing Yasuo. I don't care if he is OP or not. I just want to lane against someone else for once.

Kingdom Corn3 votes

I want to lane against more yasuos.... They just feed out of the ass

Zero Skill Tank12 votes

Yasuo is way worse than Rive, because while you can make both of them useless, it's 5x harder with Yasuo - if he has knockup champion on his team, he will be a huge threat even while item behind.

billxx2 votes

That's actually not true.

Zero Skill Tank6 votes

Yes, it is. Riven needs to take at least some time to reach your team backline, and if she is behind it will be painful AF for her to do so. The more behind she is, the harder it is for her to do anything, to the point where she becomes actually useless, as she can't even reach her target.

Yasuo, if paired with right champion, can have this part covered by his team - a Hecarim can ensure that Yasuo will unleash all his damage to right target, however little this damage can be.

On top of that, Yasuo offers huge teamwise utility with windwall - no matter how behind he is, you can't deny his ability to cancel some, possibly very important, projectiles.

none of that has anything to do with yasou, that has to do with you picking shitty friends.

NONE of that defines the champion.

it's the Yasuo syndrome

Tobias Brackner4 votes

Pull your head out of your ass. Bot carries / Top laners / Junglers / Mid laners are still the most reliable source of people matching your description.

Don't blame Yasuo for community problems.

Zerenza2 votes

Certain champions have higher percentages of toxic player's than other's. Those champions are, Yasuo, Riven, Shaco, Lee Sin,Draven and Vayne. Statistically speaking those champions have a higher chance of being controlled by a toxic player who will flame, quit or troll when things don't go their way.

BIH Diamond4 votes

Love how you don't mention Fiora even though her kit is similar to those champs. Why? Because YOU PLAY FIORA LOL

Just because you hate a champ doesn't mean you can make up bs stats against them. This is why Riot will never take these boards serious. Low elo players without logic

Meep Man4 votes

Well, a small correction here is that Riven never stopped being Riven, she just faded out of the spotlight. She is still a champion no one wants to play against due to her being arguably the hardest to approach champion in Top Lane while at the same time being able to approach anyone she wants, even if the trade ends poorly she won't die due to dashes.

I found out that people don't like two things when mixed: Hard Crowd Control + Endless Dashes

Veltox4 votes

Most of the people raging about his 'MECHONICS'either never played him to better understand his kit weakness or he bullies their mains in lane. All aboard the downvotes train but u know this is true in most of the cases.

I was Lupxel3 votes

Tell me his weaknesses... but tell me well case I will say how they aren't. Your turn

Veltox2 votes

Lets see.. Windwall is over 20 seconds early meaning u have enough time to land some damage on him if you know what you are doing. Everyone is crying about his 'infinite'dash but without minions he barely has any option to reach you, escape or juke. Pick stuff that he can't burst without taking it harder like Swain ChogathAnnie or kitting him Lissandra Cassiopeia . Ik i will offend One trick ponies with that but playing champs with a weak early it's like asking for it like in Renekton case and even then what i said still applies.

Meep Man4 votes

These are really terrible weaknesses to have to be honest.

Windwall is over 20 seconds early meaning u have enough time to land some damage on him if you know what you are doing.

If one of his core weaknesses is something that fades away later in the game, it's not really a weakness, especially since Yasuo is a late game champion.

Everyone is crying about his 'infinite'dash but without minions he barely has any option to reach you, escape or juke.

A solid thing to remember is one thing: A Yasuo caught without a target to dash to nearby is a poorly positioned Yasuo. If he is alone and the only thing he has to dash to, he isn't in the right place at all. A Yasuo should always be either with his allies or, if alone, near an enemy minion wave.

Pick stuff that he can't burst without taking it harder like Swain Chogath Annie or kitting him . Ik i will offend One trick ponies with that but playing champs with a weak early it's like asking for it like in Renekton case and even then what i said still applies.

Of course he has counterpicks! This isn't what he was asking. He is asking for weaknesses, not how to negate him entirely. We want Yasuo to have solid weaknesses that are easy to spot out, not "You counterpick him." That's a weak way to justify a champion being balanced, because you know what that means? It means the champion is cheese. If it either crushes or gets absolutely crushed, the champion is pure cheese and is poorly designed.

Veltox2 votes

I can't comment on that but there are worse designs than him.

I can't comment on that but there are worse designs than him.

I believe i mentioned this in a other thread, but i might as well point out 'of course other mechanics on other champions exist which can cause equal or even more frustration', the problem is how he is overloaded with insanely dominant mechanics that let him screw over the majority standard champion vs up against him if the opponent is not experienced or setup to actually 'counter' him then play like a 'normal' player. Plus he's typically in the middle lane most of the time and in the top lane sometimes, which basically is both 'solo' lanes where like any good old wreking ball champ with decimate most and/or unprepared squishies and moderately beefed up types of champions.

But lets go over a few just for the hell of it.

-Heimdinger: Capability of placing installments that can last almost indefinitely especially with the help of his passive hp regen on his turrets and allies so they can't be slowly poked down over time to a degree and 3 of then can be placed. Can be paired with a rylai's scepter to make for some ridiculous slow cheesing to let heim-screw it im just calling him donger at this point. So Donger can easily land his stun bomb and/or his missile rocket chain spree which evaporates non beefie champions pretty easily, much more so when they get supped up. Ways to counter him out? He still has a mana resource which like any mana champ, makes him suffer if he burns it especially early game and he has to wait over time to restock 'turret charges' before he can place new ones out constantly. But just like any good cheeser champion who gets the ability to have functioning damage tools that can function without him actually casting anything once they are 'put out', he can use the standard Bait a target to a bunch of turrets (such as behind a bush or corner and pop zhonya's and let the turrets mow the enemy down and they can't properly escape due to rylai's slow effect making them take longer to run away.

-Vladie: Or some may like to call'm the Hp stock'pile derp of a mage. Just like a certain other Hp tanking troll of a champion, Vlad just pretty much stuffs himself with alot of HP items which his passive gives him ap based on his hp stock and any ap items he has will also give him extra hp (thank god they don't stack with each other or we'd have some stupidity going on). So he effectively becomes a nigh unstoppable clot of blood that just drains hp and blasts everything with his own hp and enjoy the heck out of it. Doesnt help either at how his little 'invincibility pool of blood might as well be a mini zhonya's that lets him get out of everything except poison'like effects, cept he can still move around and drain enemies of hp and recover off of it too. How does one even counter this splooge of blood derping? Just like any measure to counter out some hp super tank of a champion the typical measure is always % killing items or good old fashion massive damage blasting champions like Jhin, Veigar, Lux, Veigar, Brand, Veigar, Ryze, Veigar, Morganna, Veigar and my favorite jungling waifu, Kindred with several stacks on her making her one lovely nightmare for plenty of champions to get a suprise attack on with her massive % hp kill stacks when combined with items like Blood razor and Ruined king to make any hp whore of a tank lose their hp bar pretty fast in a few shots.

-Shaco: Also known as the jungling screw around trap and stealth, clone and back stab a port troll. I can atleast say every time i have a match with a shaco enemy on board, its just plain annoying to deal with them, since unlike Teemo, they can shove trap boxes before level 6 and utterly screw around with you since they have plenty of 'utility' made for misdirection and TF2 style spy 'back stab' you in the process too. I'm not even going to suggest counters to him since he's more of a pain in the arse to deal without any proper measures equivalent to a oracle's extract the entire match to constantly keep him from free disengaging whenever things get rough via clone trickery and using fear'boxes to make it just that easier to keel haul someone or get away by running to a bush they hid a box in earlier.

And this is just a small few of champions i consider that have ridiculously annoying entire kits, just like Yasuo, but to some degree unlike might only need a few 'small' measures to do that can be done during the match to counter them, where Yasuo as someone said earlier, you basically need to forfeit playing whatever champion you felt like playing at the moment in favor of not getting steam rolled in the end. Obviously if i expanded it further then Ekko, Vayne, Hecarim, Illaoi, Le Blanc, Morganna, and many others could be on my list, but some being the reason of just a few abilities then the entire make'up they have.

DiamondLeonis1 votes

I just don't like how he counters pretty much EVERY mage in the game with one ability but Anivia or Taliyah's walls are not allowed to block abilities. Hypocrits Riot, tired of AD favouritism.

paisy9 votes

Maybe because they create terrain? Wouldn't it be worse than Yasuo's wind wall if it could do both? Relax and think a bit

Dengeden1 votes

Eeeeeh, maybe. At least the ones with a lv 7 mastery have a basic understanding of their champion ... mostly.
