Ocean drake has got to be my fav. Sure infernal gives extra damage, but ocean gives you sooo much staying power with free health and mana, that if both team have a poke confrontation, one with fire and the other with the ocean, the team with ocean would eventualy win.
Also if you get a teamfight and everyone is low but nobody dies. The team with infernal is forced to back while the one with ocean can splitpush and replenish their health and mana.
I play primarily utility/artillery mages, tanks and supports.
Ocean is by far my favourite drake; it is pretty much the only one that actually benefits me.
people make infernal drake out to be the most overpowered thing in the game, really its not that good, on an individual ranking, its one of the worse ones, sure with 2 or 3 the extra damage really shows, but the champ that gets the most out of the drake is Evelynn, and she only gets 6% extra dmg from it, rather than the extra 8% it says it offers, a majority of champs only get anywhere between 2-3% extra damage, sure its nothing to scoff at, but neither is the true damage to objectives, which in my opinion and sever other people's opinions is actually the best, with a single earch drake you can be dealing up to an extra 100 dmg per hit to towers, which lets you take the so much faster than the other team, if any dragon should be getting a nerf, it would be that one.
Cloud drake seems to be the most hated and ''useless'' drake in the game, however its not really that bad, the extra movespeed you get can help you secure other drags, herald, baron, towers and even help you get away when being chased, 15 movespeed isn't the most, but with elder and 3 clouds... 90 MS is a ton, its just 25 shy of mobis.
Id write more on the subject but i gotta go, so take what you will from this but know, the other drakes are just as viable, if not more that infernal :)
SOME RANDOM NA Player teaching 100 lp master EU player ON DRAKE WORTH
THis is how drake value goes
Infernal way above the curve strictly the best one
Mountain drake - Lets spend 20 seconds on taking this dragon and preparing to take it just so we can kill baron and some tower **1 second **faster The games were no team opts to go for drake are the ones with mountain in it and this HAPPEND AT MY ELO alot
In a nutshell this is the only drake which gets ignored AND for a good reason
Cloud drake. This is a valuable drake everyone knows it but its hardest to solo. You wont see Lee sin opting to solo it at lvl 4
People who think that CLOUD DRAKE is bad are generaly low elo players who should KYS blatantly speaking incorect things because they cant read patch notes and dont know that the could drake was buffed
Ocean drake is great specially if you get it early on
Infernal needs to get nerfed. Mountain drake needs to be buffed
Once that happends dragons ll be roughly at even curve
and the data you are speaking off is a DATA FROM FKING 10 LCS GAMES OR SO such value
I don't even contact the other dragons I don't even care about them. that Dragon it's my goal to get three and win the game. even if you get one or two how do you lose a team fight with all that extra damage?
statistically, infernal does not dramatically outperform the other drakes in terms of winrate.
Can you show me those statistics?

These were some of the first pro games after the elemental drakes entered the game. I took a tally of which teams had which drakes and whether or not they won or lost
Mountain W iiiii iiiii iii L iiii 65% winrate
Infernal W iiiii iii L iiiii iiiii i 42% winrate
Ocean W iiiii iiiii i L iiiii i 65% winrate
Cloud W iiiii i L iiiii i 50% winrate
If Infernal Drake was really SO ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AUTO-WIN while every other dragon was SUCH USELESS GARBAGE NOT WORTH THE EFFORT then it should have been almost impossible for Infernal to have a negative winrate, the lowest winrate out of all drakes during that week.
Have some math, with an explanation behind some math.
And here is a summary of it (note that it was pointed out at a later point that it isn't as strong with Jhin as initially thought.)
