I tried playing like Riot wanted me to do.
Hi!
I am a casual solo player! My personal best was P4, last season.
Ive bee trying now, for the last 5 months, to play like Riot expects me to. With friends. Problem was, my real life friends dosent play LoL, so I had to befriend total strangers to be like Riot wanted me to be. Playing like a solo member of this community, i got punished by the dynamicQ, as heaps of real life friends with communications stomped everything. Win rates downgraded from a 60% the two former seasons, to 35% for the first month.
I was thinking, that if I got myself some forced friends in here, i might get back to where i belonged. But no. Forced friendships in this game does not last. Quickly, the friendslist are full of inactive friends you dont play with anymore. New friends are aquired as desperatly as the old one goes out. Turns out, its not viable. Win rates dosent go much up. Its still stomp or be stomped.
One thing has had a massive increase this season though. Toxic behaviour. As long as you get the early lead, its all good. Spirits rise and you snowball. However, when you get a kill or 2 behind, its like all the knuckleheads out there has lost it already, or is it just the frustration of the dynamic Q that brings this saltyness around. Im almost there myself. Conceeding to vent my frustration on teammembers that dosent deserve it.
Until this season, i loved LoL. I longed for playing it, might even been a bit addicted. Well, Riot has finally cured it, by enforcing a type of gaming i dont want, or belong too.
Thankfully, Total War: Warhammer has launched, Star Citizen is getting into an enjoyable state, and there are loads of other nice games right around the corner.
Well played Riot, well played.
