Ashe's passive goes fundamentally against the role of an ADC: Rewards for NOT attacking?

Focus is a passive that should be on an assassin, not a carry. Assassins are opportunists, waiting for the right moment to strike and then insta-killing the target. But tell me, when can Ashe ever instantly 100-0 someone? The answer is a big fat NEVER.

Unfortunately, Riot seems to have some screwed-up logic when it comes to her passive, thinking "it's fine, no complaining allowed!" when everyone and their grandparents agree it is NOT fine. It is flawed. Horribly.

Riot, what do you plan to do about this? Continue to play ignorant, or maybe bite the bullet for once and do something productive?

Although I think that the passive is a bit defunct now because there are so many people who can just close the distance and jump on her, It still is an effective tool early and mid game before you really have crit chance to really unleash a burst of damage on someone. Think about other passives of adc's once they get engaged in direct combat, there are many other adc's who's passives are just as defunct when attacking: Varus's passive doesn't help unless he switches targets to a minion or kills the first champion, because Corki is used as a AD caster mostly today he doesn't always get in range for his auto's to proc the 10% true damage. Kog maw's passive is only good once he actually dies which you don't really want to do. Sivir's passive is slightly useless if she's not chasing people.

Really think, effective use of ashe is utilizing her whole kit so that you can get burst damage early game and late game you don't ever have to worry about getting a lucky crit while you slow them with W and run for your life.

First of all the whole tone of your commentary is really ignorant in itself.

Now let me explain to you, exactly what is wrong with what you just said.

  1. Ashe has low attack speed scaling. Therefore it is actually more effective on her than it would be on several other Attack damage carries.

  2. Ashe's passive benefit actually begins at your current crit rate. (eg. Ashe has 40% crit rate, Her passive begins climbing from 40% until it reaches 100%, lowering the time required to activate this benefit)

  3. Assuming you are in a fight, your team begins backing out due to losing a frontline bruiser, That 2-4 seconds before someone is available to attack again, Is literally a guarantee'd 100% crit rate if you've only built a single phantom dancer for crit chance. Now if you've gone the road to victory and purchased an Infinite Edge, which comes highly recommended. That 4 seconds isn't even required. You have almost 100% crit chance, Most of the time you're firing arrows.

  4. Passives are passives. They are not intended to be gamebreaking mechanics. It's actually more effective that alot of passives on older champions. It's pretty strong for last hitting, It's a guarantee'd instant quarter of your opponents health at level one. It scales with you into the game very well assuming you're building Ashe correctly.

  5. Assassin's and opportunist characters do in fact have similar bonuses. Look at Yasuo. Look at Rango or Kha'zix's Q's. These are build fundamentally into the kit of a character that is supposed to disintegrate health bars. No, Ashe will never 100-0 as you put it. Why, in riots green rift, Would you suggest that a crit chance multiplier should insinuate that a character should 100-0 someone. There is no logic in that. Crits are enhanced damage. And not that much without an infinity edge or the passive attributes from runes or masteries. Most characters, almost all, that 100-0 people, Don't even build crits. When's the last time you saw Infinite on Kha'zix. Or talon. Or leblanc. lol.

Don't you mean attack damage scaling in that first point?
