Why ban allied Yasuo players?

Because this is what happens... every... single... time...

http://i.imgur.com/jUsG0kR.jpg

Even worse, is when they don't get him, the enemy does, then the enemy Yasuo becomes god.

I mean I tried. I really, really tried. But come on, less gold than the support... I try to never ban my allies picks. But I completely understand why some people do. Basically if your top laner picks Yasuo, just expect to lose. If your mid laner picks Yasuo, expect to lose. It's as simple as that.

My one and only ever pure sodium thread but. I just... I can't... Please, permban Yasuo if he isn't on your team, so hopefully you saved some other poor soul from a miserable game.

This is known as the Shaco Syndrome.

The enemy will be a challenger smurf, and yours will be a boosted Bronze V.

Good Shacos tilt me even when they're on my team because I watch them work and think "what the hell do you do against that?"

i main shaco and whenever im not shaco i usualy ban shaco becaus even if the enemy shaco is bad as hell im scared as fuck by just thinking about all the things i would do if i where shaco in that situation

the only counter i know is try and find out where hes going to gank u from and waste his time cause it hurts really bad if you waste time

if you dominate lane be sure to have a pink in your lane all the time

TequilaZombie1 votes

I only ban Shaco if I know he's going to be on my team. The bright side of being a Shaco main (besides bringing cancer to the Rift) is that you know what the other Shaco is doing and how much punishment he can take.

I once played a game of Full AP Alistar top. The enemy had a Shaco. I was reasonably fed (because AP Ali is a fucking asshole to melee top laners) and saw that orange puff. I was reasonably low. Low enough to be one shot. I counted to about 2,5 seconds, as I was reasonably far from the bush, pressed Q and hit the invisible Shaco. Headbutt and one AA. Thunderlords procs, Shaco dies.

3tyson1 votes

actualy theres no way you can know what a good shaco is going to do because there is so much he can do and a good shaco notices when your on to him and there for does something elsee

TequilaZombie1 votes

There is a lot he can do, but usually he has only 2 real options with one of them being the best. If you play the champ for long enough you can see which one is the better and can predict it.

I've gotten a lot of free kills on Shacos just because I know where he's going to juke my team mates and I simply stand on his secondary path. I may waste my time if he goes with the second best option (using Q in the direction of your escape path), I may kill him if he tries to juke.

3tyson1 votes

iv myself try and keep about 3-5 options open the entire time im sure theres plenty of people with allot more experience on shaco than i have but i think 337k is plenty to get to know a champ especialy if its your favorite champ

for example if try to run away i might run towards a wall act like i q over that but actualy q back leaving either 2/3 ways i could walk to while being invisible this makes it allot harder to predict where i went and be sure to not always go for the best option because its easily predicted

than theres that but if you where chasing a good shaco... there might be boxes waiting for you when you folow him he can dodge what ever you trow at him by timing his ult i like shaco because of how unpredicteble he can be both ap and ad

You know, not all Yasuo players are this garbage at the game. Also, the more you ban Yasuo, the more rusty the good Yasuo players become, and the more likely they are to pick him in the few games he is open even into a bad matchup, just because they rarely get to play their favorite champion anymore. He isn't OP, nothing good to come from banning him every game.

TBH I really don't care. I despise playing with or against Yasou. Something good does come from banning him, I save my sanity.

This only applies if you ban Yasou less than 100% of the time. If you ban him every time you have a ban, tell your teammates to ban him if you don't and dodge the game if he gets picked you never have to worry about him. Personally I can't wait till 5 bans per team because I'm just going to burn mine on Yas every time he's not already banned regardless of any other factors. That will make the game considerably more fun for me.

Like. I want to like Yasuo. I really do. but between his toxic windwall when playing against him, and his toxic overly dedicated playerbase, and the fact that most feed and get mad at their allies. I just... can't. Like, he's fun to watch in high tiers of play, where people can ACTUALLY play him. But in my rank (Silver 4 in ranked, in normals I have slightly above average MMR because I mainly play normals), they are all fucking awful.

Catastrop5 votes

Also the fact that it seems the pro Yasuo's who know how to play their champion always, always end up on the enemy team. Like, seriously, what did I ever do to deserve this? Like I want to get better at the game, but....not like this, it's just horrible.

GULAG 4 U4 votes

Yasuos windwall isn't toxic. His dashes are because it makes it so certain champions cannot do shit about Yasuo getting in your face. Windwall has far more counterplay than sweeping blade.

Edit: instead of being a triggered sheep and mindlessly downvote me prove me wrong.

Mogarl4 votes

You can make a claim that it's both at the same time.

If someone throws a skill-shot at Yasuo he has 2 options, dodge it with dash or windwall it. Even if he fails either of those he still has his shield which will bail out his mistakes occasionally. Having that many safety nets is a bit absurd; especially when he can grab warlords and start the game with sustain.

By themselves windwall or his dash aren't really something too absurd, but paired together with the other safety in his kit is bullshit.

GULAG 4 U3 votes

I forgot that his windwall doesn't affect half of the roster and deal 100% true maximum Health damage and revives hitler. Jokes aside the windwall lasts 4 seconds and has a pretty larvae downtime and his shield only lasting 1 second makes him a lot less safe than he actually looks. And windwall does jackshit against the majority of the toplane roster and most of the ranged champions if you position yourself correctly.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

Windwall affects 100% of the roster. It blocks AAs too. It completely negates mages who need spells and ADCs who need AAs. I don't think it's OP it's just... so cancerous to play against. Like it won't win or lose a game but it makes him impossible to kill/chase if he plays it right.

A few days ago, i was playing good ol Sion jungle, you know, and I manage to knock up Shyvanna under turret alright at level 6. :l Wanna know what my beloved Yasuo toplane decides is the best course of action? He ults her, tanks the tower during his ult, and then blames for not tanking it despite the fact that I have barely scrambled together the base components of cinderhulk. :l

Yasuos suffer from Lee Syndrome, where if they land a Q they always have to follow up on it.

As a Yasuo main. I'm fucking sorry I really am. I know this problem is very, very real. I've seen it happen and it feels like a dice roll whenever a YASUO even 'appears' in a game.

I'm can only say I'm sorry. My best effort to help this is by being one of the nice Yasuo mains. Again I'm sorry Mira I really am.

We could talk about Anime. Ha

Requiemsfire5 votes

I generally despise Yasuo players regardless of whether they carry or feed or whose team they are on.

It's in so many cases where I encounter a player who picks Yasuo no matter what, whether it's top lane, mid lane, fucking support, whether or not they're countered in lane, whether or not their composition even works with yasuo. It's so goddamn frustrating and to top it all off he is one of the most popular champions in this game.

Nowdays, when someone picks Yasuo my only thought process is characteristically similar to the thoughts of the Bowl of Petunias from Hitchhikers moments before colliding with the ground.

NotSpecialDude4 votes

I said this elsewhere but it merits saying again. Yasuo's kit I have no real beef with. Yeah it's annoying but it's manageable to face with the right champs. My issue with yas is how he subtly forces a team to change to accommodate him.

Looking at your team I can clearly see what happened. No knock up engage, no tanks only one bruiser and 4 squishes. Top likely went ryze as to have avoid a full ad team and the enemy mid/jg laner counters yas as a bonus. Yas was likely dead weight 10 mins in. I'm not surprised he did so poorly.

Even if the yas was good the comp meant that if you didn't end early you wouldn't win team fights.

That is why I hate yasuo.

Yas was top against Nocturne. Ryze was mid. Yas also was a late pick, or at least I could have picked Vi, who is my alternative to Shyvana when the Team Comp doesn't suit her. But I 100% agree.

NotSpecialDude2 votes

either way the yas went into a bad lane and being among the last to pick means he really should have known better.

Tough luck with this game, hope the next is better.

arc954 votes

I'm a rank 7 360k mastery Yasuo and I kind of agree.... Yasuo has hardcore Shaco syndrome( if he is on your team they're awful... if they're on the enemies team it's a damn Arkadata incarnate)... granted I never ban Yasuo (I pretty much perma ban Riven and Fizz also since I am a Yasuo one trick who plays top/mid if the enemy takes Yasuo I lane vs them and dumpster the lane, usually)

BUT when I do see a teammate with Yasuo intent I check their op.gg if they're bad I ban him or dodge(usally dodge becasue it tilts them and makes the game a pretty much insta L)

and at any rate always check the op.gg if it is a good yasuo player leave it up because banning intents is a really easy way to lose a game from the start because if they 0/10 Yasuo they would probably feed regardless... and banning out their intent only makes them tilted and bad from the start instead of jsut bad

If I see my ally plans to pick Yasuo, I quickly OP.GG them.

If they seem to have a decent performance, I won't ban the pick.

If they seem to do poorly, I'll ban the pick and dodge if they begin raging in chat or go to troll-pick. In this case, I consider dodging a toxic player to be a bonus.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

I do this with off meta picks and Vayne picks. If you want to do Lulu jungle by all means go for it. But if you have a 20% winrate on it, I'm going to be understandably upset that you're making me waste one of our only 3 bans to get rid of your selfish pick. But if you have a good winrate on it, enjoy playing your champion!

DunkinNoobs3 votes

I'm willing to bet that Ivern camped the Yasuo early while you farmed and then Noct ass blasted him every time his ult was up after that thanks to the early snowball. I can see it now: Yasuo bullies hard at lvl 1 and 2, goes in for the kill with his ignite, and then bam, Ivern ganks right around 3:15 or so while you're doing a full clear. Yasuo loses both summs, Noct gets the kill, and Yasuo loses tons of exp since he can't TP to lane. Naturally, Noct hits 6 first and immediately ults Yasuo for another kill since neither of Yasuos summs are up. Sound about right?

In fact, that Yasuo has an 11-3 record on him in ranked, for an 80% winrate. I can pretty much guarantee that's how the game went.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

I don't care how much you dislike a champion, if it's normals and someone wants to play their favorite champion, freaking let them. It's not up to you to decide how others should play a game.

WoonStruck1 votes

If someone just wants to play their favorite champion, that's what blinds are for.

So yeah, it kinda is up to you how other play the game because that's the purpose of pick/ban phase in the first place. Normally its used so the enemy will not get a certain pick, but even pros ban themselves out in favor of something else sometimes.

Considering most people don't want it on the enemy team OR their team, banning it out is not an invalid option. Its entirely justified.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

You're not garen-teed your role in Blind Pick. You can still play for fun in Draft...

If someone puts pick intent as Yasou, and you ban him to spite that person because of a freaking sterotype, then you're the one being a huge dick. "You have to have fun MY way, because my way is the right way" is what you're saying. Why is your happiness more important than his?

It's not justified. Banning someone who is too strong is fine, when the person wanting him is last pick, but banning someone who isn't even that strong out of spite is rude and inconsiderate.

What Pro's do doesn't mean jack flummery. We are not PROS, and using them as an excuse to be rude is not acceptable, when they do it for entirely different reasons.

grittedblade1 votes

the only time i would ban a champ that one of my teammates wants is if their very popular and they have last pick. im sorry but if you think you could get yasuo with last pick without someone trading your fooling yourself. not trying to be a dick just trying to be realistic.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

My personal opinion, so keep that it mind, but unless said champion is broken/OP, you should still never do that. You don't have as bad intentions yeah, but if the person is popular, while not stupid overpowered, why waste a ban on that?

Narvuntien2 votes

I swear that all Yasuo players play like they have never lost lane in thier lives. The get killed in lane early "Lag", "camped", "blah blah whine whine", Then proceed to continue to never back out of a fight, jump in 1 v 5 and die and die and die. No Yasuo player has ever played well from behind I swear.

Banning somebody's pick because you don't trust that you'll be good with them is toxic. I will retaliate in a manner that will make it worse, picking AD Soraka.

Good, most Yasuo's are better off on AD soraka, if they want to throw a tantrum they can. There is no rules against banning a pick.
