Because of the serves-no-purpose lock in system We should be ABLE to lock in, but not HAVE to. If not, WHY is there the lock in system in the first place?

They have to force us to lock in because otherwise having 6 bans across 6 people and 10 people picking their champions one at a time would take forever, and then they won't be able to tell us how AMAZING their new champ select is and how it's dramatically reduced champ select time! SO GUD RITO YOU ALWAYS KNOW JUST WHAT WE NEED!

Not exactly scoring points either by making you go through 3 selects because someone didn't lock in a pick or ban.

Well they're not making us do that. The people who were too lazy to read the announcement on their client about how they had to lock in are making you do that.

The problem is that you can't hear audible queues for when you have to press something in the client if you are tabbed out. That is why so many people queue dodge. Everyone has SFX off because we don't want to hear all the crap Riot puts in there (voices, their music, ect), so when you tab out to do something while in character select, you often get booted.

Riot, fix this.

If you have it up in the background instead of minimizing the screen, it'll pop up/you can still hear everything.

Yea. I've been playing Primary: Mid, Secondary: Fill all day.. Have gone through ~20-25 champ selects because of dodgers/people who didn't lock in, and I have yet to get mid today. 2 adcs, 1 top, 1 jungle, and the rest support so far.
