How I feel playing against fiora.
Hey guys I'm not sure if this is entirely appropriate for the "gameplay" board but for the sake of soaking out all my saltiness, here goes nothing.
As an Aatrox player who pretty much plays this guy exclusively, I have played into pretty much every match up possible. Some lanes are tough, some are even tougher... but when I get matched up with fiora, It's almost like it's decided from the beginning... that I don't have a hope in the world to win against her. No matter how hard I try, no matter how many times I experiment with different modes of aggression, I can't shake off the fact that Fiora will undoubtedly win the early game, win the mid game and win the late game.
She is a duelist whose kit is so aggravatingly strong that regardless if I'm trading or farming 1 minion every 12 seconds with my blades of torment, I feel absolutely helpless in her wake. Her zoning is absolutely bull honky, her passive is a constant reminder that if I even make one false step, there's a super long range hit and run Q incoming. When she gets that W to even 1 point, I wonder if I should even remain in lane. Dark flight into her and trade with an empowered W? Riposte into auto into q into auto. It's a nightmare. The fact that it stops damage and then dispels any form of CC means its double the trouble. But that's not even all, you get this added bonus of crippling any other duelist's attack speed for free and slowing them if they didn't CC. This ability hurts either way you use it. You can't run and you can't hide (or you'll lose a tower). Sigh and I'm not into listing abilities because it usually skews how a champion really plays out but man, then you look at her E. Once she hits levels 3, she is an all inning (and occasional backing out) machine. She can theoretically "kite" you with both her Q and E if you're a melee or auto attack reliant champ and then if you hard engage onto her, you know what's coming next. Sigh. The ult is just the cherry on top to be honest, I wouldn't mind it if she didn't have everything else but it's devastating knowing that as a sustain champ you get outdamaged, "outskilled" and outsustained all at once.
Is she a rewarding champion to play? Yes... but maybe a little too rewarding.
Does she have risk involved? Yes of course, but then again every champion does and she has so many defensive/offensive capabilities to turn situations around in an instant.
Is she fun to play? Now this is where you'll probably see my bias, I don't play Fiora. Never have and at this point in time, I don't think I ever will. Some may enjoy this new added power to her kit but for others on the receiving end... it feels like you're playing the bot knowing well she's going to cream you like fodder and leave lane with that 9 minute hydra.
I've played against her on more than a few occasion and my history with her has always been heavily in her favour. I know that lane match ups don't dictate the result of the entire game but for "snowball" reliant or "farm reliant" champions like Aatrox, it's such a disfavour to the team coming out with little to no contribution capacity because from the get go, you were "HARD countered".
Most Fioras I meet are very nice people, they don't rage or scream in chat... but it sucks so much knowing how much you have to concentrate to even farm, let alone shut her down in comparison to how care free Miss Baguette over there is doing, zoning you without even knowing it.
If there's a way to beat her with my main Aatrox, please help a fellow out. At this point, it's heartbreaking going into lane against her :(
TL;DR - Fiora is very tough to play against as other duelists who rely solely on auto attacks. Playing against her is not very fun, she has weaknesses that are far too short to capitalise on and her offensive abilities hurt more than people take them for granted.
gets hard countered by someone else being in the game, just saying.
the last nerf i think hit her in the right place. She does have counters in lane, i've had good luck with
