The Most Disgusting ARAM play possible

One of the reasons I absolutely adore ARAM is that it is focused entirely on teamfights. This was the last teamfight of out game; the enemy surrendered. While this looks pretty one-sided, the previous three teamfights and several small skirmishes/pokes are heavily in the enemy team's favor. I specifically chose this clip because it shows in startling clarity several things that a lot of people on Gameplay handwave as moot.

  1. Shurelya's active
  2. Spacing
  3. Counter engage

Hecarim goes full ham, trying to stun lock either me (raka) or Sona with E->R. He has summoner 6 and item 3142 up and STILL cannot catch us. However, you know who he is making distance from? His own team. Hecarim doesn't exactly miss his ult. He was attempting to clip both me and Sona with it but couldn't reach because we maintained our space. Sona then immediately ults. If Hec had clipped us, both Sona and I would have been destroyed by the Ahri. Instead, Sona gets both and we turn a 5v2 into a 5v0. Yes, that's right. 5v0. Why? Because Cait, Fizz, and Mao couldn't do anything until AFTER BOTH of them were dead. Once Ahri and Hec were dead, it was just a matter of keeping Fizz locked down and letting Varus out dps Cait and clean up Mao for an ace.

If you are thinking, "Oh, Shurelya's isn't that good anymore," you are dead wrong. This is the reason why you use it, and this is the reason why Shurelya's was damn near mandatory on every single support from the beginning of Season 2 until half way through Season 5 when the active on item 3092 was changed to roughly its current incarnation and Shurelya's was nerfed. Again. And again. And again. Honestly, when the cd was 40 seconds, it went back to being almost mandatory. Now it's in a very strong spot. If I had not built Shurelya's, Hec would have caught Sona then ulted her, and Ahri would have picked us both off then cleaned up Varus with Fizz.

Shurelya's is the reason why poke comps are still very strong despite people wanting teamfight comps. Do not underestimate this active. It is not only versatile but incredibly powerful.
