Can shielding/Heal supports have to build AP Items that give alot of AP to be efficient?

Can you look into that Shield % Amplification stat on every Enchanter Items? Back in the Days Janna had to build a Rabadon to have a stronger Shield not get free stat from stuff like item 3504 item 3107 item 3190 .

That was what happened to Lulu back in season 4 and 5 where she was sent to midlane because you need a solo laner's worth of income to efficiently stack AP to matter. Other than that, enchanters outside Janna were basically "troll picks" because of how badly they used to scale.

Of course I'm not a fan of shield/heal power stacking, but do we want things like Lulu replacing champ pools again?

I remember Faker playing a lot of Lulu mid on 2015 on LCK

Lulu mid/top was pick/ban throughout a lot of seasons 4 and 5, actually.

Yeah, I miss that but probably midlaners and toplaners don't

AP Lulu isn't THAT cancerous honestly. It can hurt, but you can beat it. If she's squishy enough to die it's better for the game than her having 450 extra health, 100 extra MR, 100 extra armor, and 450% mana regen. Also she wasn't picked over other laners BEFORE the heal+shield power items were added. Pretty sure they nerfed lane Lulu long before that.

Also OP you should be prepared for a downvote storm. Any time I suggest this it's immediately downvoted into oblivion. But then again this could be the week everyone decides it's healthier for the game and everyone circle jerks about it.

The issue with making enchanters "more AP build centered" basically forces them out of botlane and potentially terrorize solo lanes, because of how much utility they offer. They can just avoid interaction, farm/shove lane, and automatically scale till mid/lategame, and have to fear getting camped because of that. Riot tried to incentivize enchanters to build AP by making some of their utilities (like move/attackspeed) scale off AP, and it only ended up encouraging them out to solo lanes instead.

Looks more like an upvote farm because people right now hate enchanters, despite tanks supports are the ones who are much better overall. But hey, enchanters are fucking evil, tanks are good people! /s

Personally am not a fan of either side, I just want to make it so that timing shields/heals matter again, instead of stacking heal/shield power, autobind shields to their ADCs, do absolutely nothing else, and expect great results. Back when heal/shield power didn't exist, there were at least a little bit of "skill expression", and now it's long gone.

I'm not saying give them more scaling on their abilities(if they need more scaling on their shields/heals that's fine, it wouldn't make them OP in other lanes to add more scaling to their shields, since they would still go away after a certain amount of time. Usually when someone uses a shield in another lane, you back off and wait for it to go on CD). I'm saying remove heal and shield power and things will be as they needed to be again. If Redemption suffers because of this(it's the only item that would suffer because supports would need AP instead of HP and Redemption wouldn't scale off other heal/shield power items) they could turn it into an AP item instead of HP, or just have the heal from it scale off AP. All supports were PERFECTLY FINE before heal and shield power existed. They weren't overtuned, and they worked as their job intended them to. Now we have them ALWAYS shielding other people because they don't need the shields themselves due to them being too tanky to actually kill while an ADC is right there right clicking you to death, which means the old counterplay of getting them to waste their shields on someone else, and turning on them, or getting them to waste the shield on themselves, and then turn to the ADC no longer exists. There's also the issue that they have 30% CDR in their standard 3 item core builds with around 450% mana regen.

Basically, the only one who's really any good at this is Sona. Lulu, Janna, Nami and others all have potential, but their kits have more CC and less straightforward skills to use.

Nami's W scaled up is hilariously powerful, but landing it perfectly won't happen often.
