Assume I will hard carry them because of my former plat status
Assume I'm eloboosted when I'm not 5/0 5 minutes in
Start trolling when I've died twice

I enjoy seeing a prior high-tier ally, but I've basically forgotten by the time I buy my starter items and it doesn't influence my match.
If you really feel it's a problem, you can request the border be removed through a Support Ticket. Sure they can see what your current and past season ranks are with third party apps or checking online, but it's not really that frequent, and I don't believe it affects the match much, if at all.
I like how my Plat I boarder is a constant reminder of "Lawl, you so close, but not tuff enuff. git gud kid". Then I hit Diamond a week after season ended -_-...
