The problem i see is that people only pick maokai and nautilus because they're the most efficient in their class due to how reliable and rewarding their CC is.
What can actually happen in this update where people won't pick maokai or nautilus because they have a stun/root on a shorter duration than other tanks?

Like, Sejuani and Amumu have decent AOE damage but their CC is not reliable enough to pick them, and their early clears are terrible. Give them some bonus damage to monsters/minions and they might be able to actually clear their own jungle without dying to Lee Sin.
