Anyone else find Brand "support" to be a problem?

I honestly find him to be a bit too much. When it comes to team fights I find him to be an issue. Hell, even in a 2v2. He has an easy to land AOE that has stun potential during a fight. He also just clicks R and Zhonyas while watching his fireball bounce what seems like a hundred times throughout the team (or you and your partner). Then of course, comes the after effect circle damage crap. If you don't die to that, you're low enough that you either have to run or you get mowed down by the other team mates. Can you run away during his ult? Kind of. Problem is when he builds item 3116 you end up "running" like a geriatric with a walker. You proceed to keep getting hit and slowed by the ult until the above statement happens. Every Brand I've come across poses more of a threat than their actual ADC and has been out damaging them. I've tried Morgana to no avail. The damage is a joke compared to his and the shield was only effective during lane phase. Anyway, let me know what you guys think, and if you have any tips lay em on me.

BTW: Keep in mind this is solo q. We don't always have team coordination for things as simple as "not clumping" during a fight.

His only stun is his line skillshot, not his AoE

I know that. I said stun potential, not stun. If he sets targets "ablaze" then hits that sear, they get stunned.

My bad then, It sounded like you were saying pillar of flame itself potentially stunned

Also, Its easy to dodge after someone buys item 3675

(If you know how to right click on the ground away from the AOE in a timely manner)

True, but the problem is during a fight when you're dodging / peeling all the other skills. That's also not considering his R that bounces to everyone, which again is hard to prevent in Solo q. Damage is a bit high imo.

Ah, the classic "just dodge the spears" argument. It's almost a thing of beauty.

This is more a thing about mage "Supports"

Low - medium range and reliant on a skillshot.

His W is his biggest damage and every single champion in the game with a movement speed higher than 325 can walk out of it center to edge

I think it's justified that he can deal damage.

Well yeah it's not hard to dodge at all by yourself. Problem is during fights when you're busy dodging / peeling all the other countless skills, let alone his. Gets easily lost within the fight. Again, this is just one part of his "support" that I don't like. His R is another. Overall deals too much damage imo. Too many Brand "supports" dealing more damage than their own ADC.

Supports have changed a lot over the years. I remember the days when all supports pretty much stacked aura items, placed wards everywhere, and that was their main contribution (player skill aside). Now they have the potential to not only kill other non-carry players, but entire teams. From a strategic point of view, it's hard for me to wrap my head around that.

Yeah I'm okay with some damage and kill potential, but when they're consistently out damaging their whole team it's kind of wack. Big team fight? Click R and unleash hell. Pretty lame.

As a person who's relied on a walker before, some people can move pretty fast with one. ;)

Try yorick support, once I got used to the matchup I could beat brands damage with my own pretty easily in lane. His minions also help keep his ult from bouncing on you sometimes. He's also tanky enough to shrug off a few combos from brand.
