Recommendations for carrying to gold in ranked?

I am trying out different things in normals trying to find the right fit for me before tackling placement matches. My goal is to get at least gold for end of season rewards. I can be good but I tend to play whatever strikes my fancy at the moment and try lots of different builds for the fun of it. So I have never really set my intention on mastering a champion to carry me to up in rank.

I am like looking for recommendations given the current state of balance and the meta. Im not looking to make this harder on myself than I have to.

I think my personal style tends towards wanting to control the flow of the game. So maybe its an artillery mage denying advances or pushing a tower down with team. Or its a split pusher who juggles around the map keeping the enemy off balance and the waves pushed. Or winning all the objectives for my team and getting early towers, and counterjungling the enemy's farm.

So advice along those lines might be best.

I do also enjoy hyper aggressive early assassins or gank junglers, but my results are too inconsistent for me to think thats the best route to climb.

My observations have been that I need something thay scales well into mid and late game to carry. At low elo, gaining early advantages dont mean much because your team often doesnt know how to press an advantage and they make thier own mistakes to let the enemy regain ground.

I had a lot of success with shyvana as a scaling carry. But I am concerned that she is too dependant on gaining a level advantage to abuse in mid game. If I die early or my lanes are feeding badly and dont know how to play defensive then I may never get the lead I need. I often win by controlling objectives, taking towers, picking off solos or well timed dragonndives into teamfights. She holds her own mid game and scales well so I dont fall off much as long as I dont let the enemy get a big lead.

I trid playing Yi as a farming scaling hypercarry adc jungler. Inconsistent results. Teams collapse too easily without jungle babysitting, and Yi doesn't have the tankiness of Shyvana. I struggle a lot more on Yi to either gain an advantage or use it because he is like a melee adc.

Udyr Has a high winrate, but I am concerned I may not be able to leverage that enough early game in ganking and counter jungling to matter, because he doesnt scale as well late game. I like how his speed and stuns give me control over situations.

I can do ganking junglers. Nocturne. Rammus. Hecarim. The problem is that low elo teams cant make use of the advantage you give them, late game performance almost always matters, and if the enemy jungler ganks more than you you're in trouble.

I have had success with artillery mages like xerath or ziggs to win out the poking dances and teamfights. But have not tried it s lot. I am not sure it would be as reliable long term. And in this adc mid game meta I feel like I am working against the tide trying to carry from mid.

I am good with viktor, but after his nerfs hes a worse team fight and artillery mage. I think his lane bully builds have potential, but it runs into the same problem I have with early game focused builds - I cant always get the major advantage I need to snowball. And nust having a moderate advantage won't let me carry most of the time at low elo.

I'm good on Talon, but at low elo it seems like assassins are only good if I can utterly stomp my lane, repeatedly killing the opposing laners, and roll up another lane early game. Slight advantages dont cut it in low elo, because if I am not feeding off enemy team than the chances are too high that my team is feeding the enemy assasssins. Altough I can stomp lanes like that in normals, I dont think its consistent enough.

I use to be good woth Quinn as a lane bully, assassin, split pusher - But after nerfed and meta changes I dont know how she would hold up.

Tanky junglers or tops like Ornn are out. Too team dependant.

Support is out. Too team dependant.

I havent really tried ADC though in this new meta. Its been a long time since I played. But ADC use to be a terrible role to carry from because you took too long to take control of the game and were too team dependant.

I don't even know if the best carry roles hold up in the new game. Mid, top, or jungle use to be the best role to carry with.

I stopped reading right here. Udyr is an absolute God late game and probably has the best late game of most junglers

For the game in general you need to have 2 mindsets. Normals is to try and find champions you enjoy. But Ranked is for the OT in the lanes you enjoy. OT(One Trick) is the easiest and fastest way to get to gold. The point is until Plat and even in the games it doesn't matter what the win rate is. OP.GG is mainly Plat+ in terms of win rates, and if you only want to get to gold atm then just play what you find the most comfortable.

Snowballing an early lead from bot lane with proper rotations is probably the easiest way to win in gold.

Try to get the enemy's bot tower down ASAP, the moment that happens take dragon if it's up, and then send your ADC and Support to top and push for that tower, you can take rift herald at this point if you see the enemy jungler at bot lane. Once you have taken the top tower, control the enemy jungle and push for mid tower if it hasn't gone down yet already. Once your baron is up, your top laner should be shoving bot with TP up or roaming with the team otherwise, the rest of the team should mid/top side, the moment the enemy team sends more than one person to deal with the bot lane shove, either take baron or bait a fight and have the top laner TP to baron. From there you just siege an inhib and take complete control of the enemy jungle.

Aside from that, you should make sure your team has every lane shoved towards the enemy before attempting objectives, so the enemy team is forced to either stop the big minion waves from taking a turret or contesting the objectives.

Would you recommend playing a jungler that is focused on getting bot lane ahead, or just playing adc yourself?

If the former. Would you recommend a hyper aggressive gank jungler, or is it fine to use an objective/jungle controlling jungler like shyvana who wants to farm and scale primarily?

I have started to experment with trying to crush or support bot lane as jungler knowing the important now of adc. Unfortunately this backfires if our adc is an idiot that no amount of farm advantage can fix. Thats why I won't play support at lower elo.

If you can, find an ADC to duo with that's on the same page as far as macro play goes, from there you can either jungle, mid or support, as they can all help snowball the ADC. As far was what kind of jungler just play what you're most comfortable and experiment with others and normals to find what works best for you, meta picks don't matter as much until mid-high plat.
