Who?

But in all seriousness, he's probably the champ in the worst state of all champs in the game right now. Yes, we have Urgot and Yorick but those two are at least unique in their terribleness and have still managed to work their way into high level play now and again like in Season 5.

Aatrox though... he's not just poorly designed, he's bland. The only thing that stands out about him is his E's unique hitbox, everything else is a worse version of something someone else has. Only dedicated Aatrox mains wreck face with him and in that case it's like them wearing weighted clothes and if you put those players on a better AA centric fighter then they'd dominate everyone.

Aatrox was decent with Sated.

Riot purposefully keeps him down. His kit is badly designed (I main him and I still say this.) When he gets ahead, he gets AHEAD. He spirals out of control very quickly by stacking attack speed and life steal, and it becomes very very very difficult to duel him let alone kill him. If they allow him to be strong he will dominate everything. Same with eve, they shove her back because she's toxic by design. However, unlike Fizz and Zed they aren't huge playmakers, so they can't be allowed to be strong because they aren't interesting to watch.

While it makes me real sad, I wouldn't be surprised if he remains iceboxed for quite some time. He's one of those champions that needs a full fledged rework of some description, but there's quite a few guys ahead in line.

He reminds me a lot of Yorick, a champion who was released with an imperfect kit (to say the least). Good ol' Mr. Mori has been around for quite some time, and Aatrox might follow in this trend, sadly.

postponed to 2025 sadly.

**HE`S NOT A PLAYMAKER LIKEZed Yasuo Fizz Ekko LeeSin **

Well, Trynda and Yi are also frustrating when they are ahead. There is a thread every weak about Yasuo and Fizz, even if they aren't that strong at the moment. Aatrox is only theoretically strong, if he gets buffs. Remember that the game is centered about the ADCs and their minions - the tanks and the supports. Aatrox can't touch the ADCs in any elo above Gold, because melee champions get permaCCed and kited, unless they have 4 k hp and 250 resistances. His kit has no synergy with being tanky. Even if he gets buffs and becomes semi-playable, he will be just another splitpush bot like Trynda, Fiora, Jax. Now he can't even do this, because he falls off super fast. Melee DPS champs have to be super tanky with some good lategame scaling - Jax (gets free tank stats for building dmg, his E counters on-hit and normal attacks), Trynda (can't be die, highest lvl 1 hp pool, second highest lvl 18) or having assasin like burst - Yi (14th highest lvl 18 hp ), Yasuo, Fiora. Aatrox can heal like Xin, WW, Irelia, cheese some kills or towerdives with his passive and that's it. His lategame DPS is joke and he is nowhere near tanky. Even if he was with Trynda like stats he would lose 15 % of his current hp per E+Q - now he loses 297,42 hp when he initiates.

Pretty sure riot said he was in a perfect spot a while back

The problem with Aatrox is that he's actually pretty balanced winrate-wise, he's just boring as hell to play. He needs a rework. At least Shen-scale, maybe bigger.

It's sad that Rioters ignore all the Aatrox threads that pop every week...

Aatrox will probably see changes in divers rework, because he is considered one by Riot right now (if I'm not mistaken). When that's gonna happen, I don't know. Seeing how there are a lot of reworks already planned for this season, probably next season, or maybe as a part of pre-season changes.

Quite a bunch at that. Seems all threads are Zed qq, ekko tank qq, fizz qq, DQ qq, and the non toxic ones.... ---> Aatrox threads.

It's not like they can't change some number the next patch, so he isn't complete trash. They just don't want to do it.

As much as I would like changes for him I actually kinda like playing him a bit right now because of some of the new item changes. Obviously he is god awful right now, but hey if you do want to play him right now and have some fun while playing him I have found that Hybrid Aatrox is okayish right now, and even if it's not that strong I find it to be his most fun build for him right now.

Key items for this build being item 3146 item 3065 item 3124 and basically build him as a tank after or if you are feeling like you are doing well pop a item 3115 in the build and go wild it's actually pretty effective and definitely the most fun I have had with him in awhile. So he might not be getting any changes any time soon but if you want to play him and have a bit of fun with him I'd say this is my favorite way to play him right now.

every time i've seen hashinshin play him he like auto tilts and feeds lol

The problem with Aatrox is balance. How do you balance someone who scales off lifesteal and has a "guardian angel" like passive ability? You nerf his base stats and make him only a champion that benefits from getting ahead. You also make items that suit his kit pretty expensive.

I think Aatrox kit needs rework just to make him a little more balanced as a champion. If Aatrox get's behind he remains useless almost the entire game. If he gets ahead, he is incredibly threatening as a duelist.

I actually don't like laning against an Aatrox because it is hard to figure out if this person will be real good with the champ or not. It seems that the hardcore Aatrox players are really good at making him work in the top lane, while others are simply terrible with him. They primarily try to use him as a diver that can get a kill under a turret and still walk away, but they don't really use him effectively.

His teamfight is pretty poor and outside of pre-reworked Taric was one of the least played champs.

A few months ago(i don't have a link) Riot stated that they won't be doing any work on Aatrox in the near future but they do say he is being watched
