Why does dodging count as a loss

Three damn series in a row I've lost because my client crashed. Fix your shit, Riot.

To discourage dodging, obviously. Would be obnoxious as hell having someone dodge every game with no consequences.

Well, you get one "free" dodge a day where it doesn't put you in 20 min queue. If that didn't count as a loss I'd be in Silver instead of stuck in Bronze right now.

But if Riot is going to punish people for dodges, they need to fix their fucking client so that it doesn't force me to dodge.

having dodges be free would encourage it

i understand your problem, but there should be a way for the client to detect a crash and compensate appropriately. Something where, just exiting out of the client is not enough, but detecting the bug is.
