They are cool, but its defentely not the old Galio. What do you guys think, where is he going to be played?

He'll be played the same place every new champion gets played: Top, Jungle, Mid, Support, and ADC.

just waiting for nb3 and broboosted to make stupid videos of this rework... lul

never forget nb3's now deleted ridiculously titled "UNKILLABLE SHEN BUILD!!" video where he proceeds to build the most popular champion.gg build

I die a little bit inside whenever I see a clickbait Nb3 vid on my suggestion tab.

But mah "OP, LITERALLY BROKEN, 1000AD CRIT GALIO JUNGLE, NEW META, MY TEAM IS ALL BOSSTED"

I've died little bit more now, why u do dis to me?

I think he's strong competitively.

But that kit is super underwhelming. He might be a shen case, but worse. Strong in LCS, weak in soloq.

Man, he looked less boring in the trailer.. I never played old galio but this galio doesn't really motivate me to try him like yorick's rework did. This rework looks rushed, he doesn't look like a unique champion, he looks like aatrox, a little bit of everything that gives him little identity to himself. (you can easily see malphite, diana, vi, and shen in this kit, if those champs got reworked, these abilities would be theirs.)

i think with this rework IF he isnt just an lcs champ, he will be pretty good.

SanKakU1 votes

Well he's not even on PBE yet right? So any unofficial video could just be nonsense for all we know?

ModJango Mage2 votes

Yes, hes not on the PBE yet, but every champions abilites get revealed before they are eneabled on the PBE.

biggest complaint.

Q

in what directions do minions travel? a straight line...

in what direction does galios Q atk from? the sides....

so he will only be able to hit 3 at a time melees or casters, unless he wants to ham aggro the wave and put himself in melee range against the enemy laner.

You lack imagination :) Place yourself to the right or left. Aim at the caster minions. BOOM both melee and caster minions are hit xD

no i've just taken physics and have been playing league for 4+ years now. (might be 5 now? not sure anymore)

its simply curves too much from such a large angle in relation to the cast location (galios hit box). you can not hit all 6 without grossly over exposing yourself. so you'll have to settle for 3 and find yourself pushed in relentlessly forced to still focus on wave management instead of your enemy laner.

basically you'll position galio right next to the melee minions, and the end point will end up on the casters, or vice versa if you're behind the wave. you will be slightly above or below them to arc it through all the melees with the end point being the other 3 minions. but either way this only happens after the wave collides with something. if it hasn't you wont be able to hit more than 2, 3 if you're lucky.

so galio will still have the same problems of why he wont be played mid.

hes still a melee champion afterall.

that's why the passive gives empowered basic attacks? the Q's focus point is going to be equivalent to morganas W. the side winds are just there as a bit of flavor to explain how the whirlwind starts from both wings. that should be a bit obvious when looking at his kit. it also seems to slow or do some sort of negative effect beyond just damage. if you want to hit the minions with it you use the tornado. if you want to hit your opponent you use the tornado. the curving lines are for extra things like tacking on damage to your opponent or controlling zones.

not sure what taking physics and playing league for 4 years has to do with estimating a move in a video game though. physics aren't a factor in pressing a button and seeing an animated model react. if they were nautilus's joke has broken some serious grounds in the field of science.

4 years isnt that long. show your elders some respect.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

and thats why its going to be even worse.

passive auto + Q = not enough to clear and thus the entire wave is now in an awkward hp amount where 1 auto isn't enough and 1 tower shot is going to kill it, hed be better off not using anything and just letting the tower hit it twice and then autoing it to clear.

you really have no idea how to last hit do you?

galio is majorly screwed moreso than he is now.

BLACK REALM GOD1 votes

not really you're assuming you have to let the wave push past you. you're also assuming his passive is going to be slow to reactivate. you're also assuming his abilities are mana cost heavy, that his shield is weaker than it might actually be, the damage of his taunt isnt enough to kill. that his dash isnt good for farming, and that all of his abilities have outrageous cooldowns. if you saw karthus today as a new champion and they showed you his Q by itself by using it once without any extra information you'd say "that's it?"

i think he does quite a bit of damage for a tank.

edit

im also pretty sure that when they make these videos they do them without runes, masteries, and items. so his scaling could be ridiculous.

edit2

i last hit just fine.

I guess you should have taken geometry then.

doesn't realize math is cumulative, it assumes you understand everything below it in order to advance.

Diana ?

Very Hard Engage1 votes

look at where diana stands. shes ham aggro in the enemy wave. its just that the enemy usually has the sense to back off after level 6 so she doesn't insta gib them.

however new galio doesn't bring strong burst, seeing as how he lacks an ultimate.

Limrick1 votes

Diana can hit minions just fine with her curved ability.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

not all 6*

she routinely hits 1, 3, or shes being punished.

Being able to ult from that distance which does aoe damage and has CC seems to be overloaded. Seriously though if he is turned into a juggernaut or vanguard and has that kind of gap closer then it'll be troublesome.

Spoofghoul1 votes

midlane and toplane and jungle

and probably as support too

i think the little purple shield maybe bonus health scaling with mr or something which only absorbs magic damage which should make him really tanky vs mages

also his ult will probably not be global, but more sion ult like in radius, so if played mid he can help both lanes when needed

he still got the aoe to push waves and the tankyness/sustain to deal with ranged magic poke so mid seems like an obvious choice

RamboDash151 votes

I'll be playing him as an assassin, on hit, fighter, tank.

In other words, everything in the game, except mage or adc.
