Why did Riot add the fortification passive to mid turret as well as top turret?

If Riot wanted to stop the lane trading, why did they also add the passive to the midlane? Feel like if they removed it from midlane, it would make midlaners reconsider ganking when their turret could potentially be pushed down quickly.

Fortification has been a thing for years. They just removed it from bot lane, increased the damage reduction for top and mid a bit, and reduced how long the towers are fortified (top and mid lose fortification at 5 minutes, btw).

Yeah, mid lane doesn't even roam pre-5 minutes (except Aurelion) which makes this post very redundant. People will upvote anyways. That is the boards.

u already know why, LCS lane swapping got old. it was cool stuff first, but then it was the only strat.

Yea I know why they added the fortification passive in the first place. What I'm asking is why that passive is also on the midlane which didn't really have to do with the lane swapping. Couldn't they have solved the problem by only putting that passive on the top lane.

Maybe? or perhaps they'd lane swap and just shove mid first. i really don't know.. i think they just really wanted to make standardized lanes again and this is kind of a "overkill" way of doing it if you are looking at it from your perspective. Either way it worked.

They didn't add it to mid, they removed it from the bot tower. Towers have always had the fortification bonus.

Why did they even do it?

There is only player mid (easier to kill and dive then 2)

and it is the shortest lane (minion get there faster), without the buff it woud be too easy to destroy the mid tower.
