Malzahar tips for ranked?

So, I picked up Malzahar a while ago and was pretty sucky at him, only about 3 weeks ago I started playing him in drafts and I quickly fell in love with him. Let me preface this by saying im fairly new to ranked and was placed in Silver IV and im now in Silver V. 8/18 wins/losses Right now I'm Mastery 6 with Malz and I'm starting ranked with him, it seems like I've been doing pretty decent and I just want some tips for laning/carrying/teamfight etc

Malzahar has the lowest skill cap ceiling champ wise its just you need to understand how the game works better

Play safe early and farm as much as you can, don't try to go in all in for kill cause early you pretty weak so just push with your e and poke your laner with E as possible. After you get like 2 items and boots you can push harder and go all in if allowed to, take ignite it pretty good for your kill secure and always remember to ward when you can special around river that got objective on it. If you against weak mid laner or you able to shove him from time to time, try to rotate top or bot then secure a kill with your ult if possible.
