I question why I face Gold IIIs as a Silver sometimes

I haven't played in a while, about a week, but I still find this topic an issue. (Until the next year, I'll mostly play for fun but I do want to talk about this)

I faced a Gold III Jinx after a 10-15 game winstreak once in ranked. I won. Despite winning, I found it odd that I had a 10 game loss streak immediately after. About 2 games, I had more 3-4 deaths. The rest were lower than 4. CS was average. Kill participation was at 86% though. What happened?

First off, let me clarify. I think 3-4 of those games were lost because I could have also done better things. (Basically, attributing my losses to the MMR system completely isn't my goal. My goal and argument is to highlight a flaw in the MMR system that contributes a major factor to your career and WR)

A lane lost and we did not get many kills. The lost lane also fed unfortunately. Several people were fed or one champion. There was a troll who was placed on my team so I can carry them. (32% WR and I will not name them)

After the 10 games, I spiked to my regular pattern of 3 wins and one or two losses. This time, the teams had much more balanced statistics and I was no longer facing golds.

If I'm going to face someone an entire elo ahead of me, I expect that I shouldn't have promotions. It's quite annoying when being forced to lose just to have a balanced WR. I can confidently say the Golds I face aren't difficult for me. However, carrying an entire team lacking in experience compared to an enemy's is.

There's been multiple instances where I faced golds in ranked. One time I had a ex-diamond who was gold which was considerably jarring. I've faced plats in norms.

The MMR system is quite bonkers in these scenarios. Players shouldn't be forced into a 50% WR. They'll climb to their elo and hit that 50% somewhere.

Thoughts?

when you go on win streaks your MMR increases, so riot thinks "Hey this guy might really not be silver" so they start having you face people in the division youre going to be to see if you actually are, or if it was a fluke. Generally if you can't hold your own against a gold 3 you're probably not gold.

That broken logic though. Not how a team game works.

Yes it is. That's exactly how ranked ladder team games work.

The issue isn't me facing them. I still am climbing despite this. The issue is how it delays the climb and how annoying it can be if your teammates aren't on par.

This was a one-time incident, so my bias stems from that.

Your mmr is going up or theirs has crashed

Personally, I think this problem would likely go away if Riot switched back to hard resets instead of soft ones. Sure, it's brutal for bronze players to be matched up against diamonds, but that only happens for probly less than a month. With hard resets, everybody seemed to get to where they belonged more accurately.

The soft reset system essentially takes the majority of players and just puts them one tier lower which basically just raises the skill level of each tier causing a mix match of chaos as newer or players less active in the previous season get matched into the same tier with people that are actually significantly lower than their skill level was, but will now be forced to climb ridiculously slow because their MMR will force them to play against players as good as them making going up or down involve a lot of luck. So half of them will go up and half will go down meaning that lower MMR will still half half of those player skilled enough to be ranked higher but also have people that aren't as skilled making an even worse mix match of luck that keeps repeating itself.

If you just had skilled players crushing random people until MMR balances out, they would climb to where they belong a lot faster and more accurately as well as everybody else.
