Can someone give me tops on playing against Yi?

EDIT: Thanks for tips everyone! Next time I see a Yi I shall keep it all in mind!

Just had a game where the team has a pretty decent start, at least I know I did. And their Yi was doing about average I would say. However, as the game progressed, the Yi reached a point where all he had to do was ult, alpha, and kill all of us in seconds.

I am not saying Yi is broken nor am I trying to complain or whine about Yi. While he does annoy me, I would just like some advice or tips on playing against him because every game against a Master Yi feels the same to me, average start, shred in seconds late game. If you could help me out that would be great!

Yi is impossible to kill unless your team has CC. With new items, most Yi's can build item 1419 item 3153 item 3006 and melt the enemy team. Normally getting item 3742 item 3102 to help. You need a bind or a stun to kill him. Or the focus of the team.

He actually had item 3139 , not BV, which means you need multiple forms of CC to stop him.

CC the crap out of him pick a good cc comp and focus him when he tries to do the bronze 5 im yi 1v5 strats

Listen. The biggest mistakes people make is picking zed/master yi / katarina into a full cc team. Usually you wanna ensure your team has some sort of CC. I know master yis a pain in the ass he really is when he 2-3 shots you in mere seconds. But one CC and hes done.

Thats perfectly fine. CC is what kills Yi.

Group and make sure your team has a source of hard CC (stuns, roots, knock ups, suppressions. The more Reliable the better).

Get some armor so yi doesn't just blow you up. If you're a carry, hourglass or GA works well. Steraks is sometimes useful. If you're a bruiser, get frozen heart, iceborn, deadmans, thornmail or randiuns. Yi has issues when he can't get resets by killing people - deny him his first kill and he gets stuck in the middle of your team. Focus him, then move on to the rest of his team. Chances are, he has the most kills and is the most dangerous enemy anyway.

Hard CC is one of the best ways to go. If he can't alpha, he will probably try to meditate to survive. Interrupting that denies him the heal and damage resist.
