Will I die in helllll or get down syndrome from playing ryze support?

I mean he's not the best choice, but his snare is really strong.

He can harass and zone easily with his E (+W), against a melee support tho. You probably get destroyed if you face an enchanter (I don't know how you play, just my thoughts)

There are worse choices, but theres lots of significantly better ones. Point and click cc is basically all you've got going for you (maaaybe the ult but I consider that useless or worse in the disorganised mess of solo queue), so you'd need to value that extremely highly for it to be worth picking over more conventional supports.

Ryze kinda wants to get stacking ASAP so he can scale as his base damages aren't anything special, and most support items give mana regen instead of raw mana. A support budget is going to mean he's going to be behind the curve there, and if he's not building support items then you lose out on a lot of utility those items offer.
