A Yasuo rework might be needed.

I know people have different opinions about everything on this guy, but when Riot supposedly "nerfed him to the ground", there is probably something wrong with him. In order to get an idea on his kit, maybe people should agree on a theme.

When I think of a wind using swordsman, I think about either cutting or moving fast. Problem with Yasuo is that I believe he was made with virtually every wind thematic that could be stuck to him. Compare him to Janna. She represents the defensive power of wind. Pushing people away and slowing them. Yasuo should be about the offense. That might mean doing something about his wind wall and shield. Also should he stay as a hybrid, or lean towards being a fighter or an assassin? I'm not sure how being a melee carry is working out for him.

He has those defensive tools specifically because a melee carry cannot function without a defensive tool. Literally impossible for them to work if they can't protect themselves.

Well, okay, impossible if your opponents haven't suffered brain damage.

Fair enough. So he should stay as a melee carry?

Honestly, I don't know what to do about Yasuo.

He was, for the most part, fine on release. The one part that worried me was his W adding % Flow in addition to the Flow gained from using E. I mean, his E travels 475 already, which is basically +10% Flow already, so the bonus from his W made it up to 25%/30% Flow per E. That got removed, and I thought he was fine.

Then he took a handful of tiny nerfs, and now he's sitting in the same place as pre-rework Master Yi.

Right now, I think his problem is Crit. No, not his passive's interactions with Crit, but the entire functionality of Crit as it is designed right now. The RNG damage duplicator is causing problems across the board, and I think, because of that, they can't buff Yasuo until it's changed.

This guy gets it.

Yasuo was formerly a viable pick at top lane, but after Riot nerfed his Flow regeneration, shield duration, and shield strength, he loses in a 1 v 1 match against ANY other melee. His Wind Wall is only useful against ranged champions, and his passive shield is out-classed by the defensive steroids of almost every other fighter in game.

Then Riot nerfed his base health and MS. The base health reduction puts him at an ADC level of durability, which allows mages to out trade him with his shield down.

By all means, I believe Yasuo should be made more tanky; however, the problem is that if he doesn't get shut down, he will get an early SS and IE, which pretty much allows him to 2 to 3 shot anyone.

That power is not unique to Yasuo though, every other crit stacking champion such as Gankplank and every ADC can erase someone in 2 to 3 hits; Yasuo just hits that point sooner.

So essentially Riot has to fix crit before they can really work on Yasuo?

Pretty much.

love this convo, i love yasuo n hope he stays close to the way he is now, but maybe some base stat buffs if any cuz he really needs more durability if not, he shouldnt have the fighter tag, just assasin

This DAMAGE was never nerfed. Which is over half of the problem. The other problem is his STUPID utility, CC, good movement speed, dashes, sheilds on TOP of his broken ass damage. But no TAKING 30 HP FROM YASUOS BASE HEALTH WILL REALLY SHOW HIM HUH.

JustMyBassCannon2 votes

He already took a hit to his movement speed, and you really have no idea if you think a health nerf doesn't affect him harshly.

between buying a dorans blade, his passive to shield him and his wind wall. That hp drop means nothing when he can trade you for twice that with a few dashes a q and an auto. We all know that squishy ap mids get completely rekt by a good yasuo. It just proves how broken his utility and damage is.

Between Wind Wall having a near-30 second cooldown early game, his shield blocking jack shit, and Doran's Blade being a rarer start than Brawlers Glove on Yasuo, that HP drop means quite a bit.

Are you seriously arguing this? Yasuo Yasuo Yasuo Yasuo Yasuo Yasuo Yasuo THIS GUY IS BROKEN. Riot gave him an over loaded kit. If you learn how to play with him and just farm, with out killing your laner you will still be stupidly powerful. All it takes is one knock up.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

Alright, so why aren't you a Diamond Yasuo player? If all it takes is learning his mechanics...

I've played the guy like 4 times, to get a feel for his mechanics. Other than that, I play the mid-lane mages that he supposedly hard-counters with Wind Wall, and I have proceeded to utterly wreck his shit on multiple occasions. By the time he hits his mid-game spike, most of my team is far enough ahead to match or outpace his damage.

Yes, I'm arguing that Yasuo is not broken, nor is he overpowered.

I dont wasted my IP on disgusting champions Zed Yasuo Fizz . I like having more skill than just my kit that does all the work for me. Support and jungler is more like it, and being with the team to actually make an impact not just. Land a knock up and we will win. His kit is overloaded and his damage is Toxic. Stop trying to tell me Yasuo is not broken

Terff1 votes

He isn't though, yeah he can carry, yeah he can do good, but I rarely see it, I think yasuo is one of the least toxic mid assassins. Tons of other champs have a "Land a x and we will win" blitz, twisted fate, urgot are a few that come to mind. His ult is weak unless your team can follow up on it. And sure his wind wall can block a lot of shit, but it still requires skill to use it effectively and melee crushes it entirely, and his shield is too weak to do anything against a strong melee. I wouldn't say he is weak, but he definitely isn't strong either.

you guys are great and really know your facts, this athiest guy really was just raging on him, yasuos my main btw n i really think he needs to be buffed back to where he was, but staying how he is now is fine to. i just reallly dont want anymore nerfs his way:/

You haven't actually proven that anything about Yasuo's kit is toxic or broken. You've just constantly called him toxic and broken, like every last, broken-record retard that ever lost to a Yasuo.

I've heard all the arguments enough times, and the funny thing is, people like you never listen to the counter-points.

"Yasuo has too much damage!" Actually, Yasuo's damage output is lower end-game than Tryndamere or Yi with the same build. Of all the MADCs, Yasuo actually has the weakest late-game. What makes Yasuo strong is his mid-game power spike, which is actually a problem with Crit Chance, and not Yasuo. "Yasuo has too much defense!" His base defensive stats are the weakest among melee ADCs, his shield lasts 1 second, his Wind Wall is ineffective against more than half of the actual damage potential of League of Legends... "Too much mobility/utility!" His one utility/defense is Wind Wall, which is not difficult to circumvent or avoid entirely. His mobility comes from his E, which is proportional to the number of available targets and is weakened or negated by pretty much all CC. Even slows affect it. And then he has a knockup and a knockup-extend.

But you already stated, when you asked me if I was seriously debating this, that you would not listen to any sort of reason. Because, why prove something when you can just be a noisy bitch about Riot's design?

going by his winrate acros all ranks, it definitly did show him, and yet he's one off the most likely champs to get a penta with(asomething he shares with yi, even though yi got a better winrate, especially at lower elos, but still below 50%) The concept of AA-focused melee-carrys, especially with crit, is inherently flawed by itself.
