LCS BIG PLAYS!

You know, I think a feel years ago when I saw a Zed or Thresh do an epic play in LCS I used to be incredibly impressed

These days, I'm just bored of it. It doesn't feel that the player behind that Zed is a good player and he is using his insane skills to do amazeball things. It just feels that he is kinda of a noob abusing the strongest champion...

It makes LCS less interesting to watch, NOT more...

I've only watched a few LCSBIGPLAYS things and honestly I'll probably never watch them again. I don't enjoy watching LoL all that much, and the few times I have watched the "highlights" I've mostly seen massive team fights that are really hard to follow or scenes of Lee Sin abusing his mobility. It's impressive one time, but not thirty or forty.

But that goes into why I think the whole concept RIOT has for trying to televise League of Legends is wrong. I'm a huge sports fan and used to watch everything including the Olympics. But I can't watch the Olympics anymore due to the fact that the American announcers have gone away from announcing a sport to talking about personalities and "the home life of X American participant". They should be announcing a sport, and helping people enjoy watching it.

LOLesports doesn't really have announcers, it has a couple people who describe nothing and then love to scream out "pentakill" when an LCSBIGPLAY occurs. It's exciting once, but after a while the lack of understanding of what went into setting up the pentakill and the abilities used will just drive away all but the most dedicated fans.

There is a reason that Magic:the Gathering only got a few championships televised on ESPN2 (yes, their pro tour did make it onto TV about 10 years ago.) A huge part was that the announcers were like the LoL announcers, rather than being experts on the game who wanted to explain what they were seeing, they were just fans. the NFL received a huge boost after John Madden went into broadcasting. The man not only knew football due to being an ex-coach, but he loved to explain what people were seeing and he could use the emerging technology to allow even the least knowledgable fan to understand why a bigplay occurred.

But RIOT does have a bit of time to develop their system. I just hope they can make the adjustments they will need to make in order for LoL to expand past their current fanbase. Right now it looks like they don't have anyone in their office willing to point out that the bigplays are neat, but that they won't bring in many new fans in the long run. The current players already know what Zed or Thresh can do and aren't impressed after a while, and new fans will eventually start to wonder why they see the same 20-25 champions when there are 123 available for play.

Does feel like LCSBigPlays is more of a source of sarcastic commentary than big plays these days.

It's the fan community that will keep League afloat. There's dedicated fans that know the game and can place solid commentary. I think if more attention can be focused on them, it can make a better view on the game as a whole.

They should play urgot in the LCS and let everyone know how strong he can be :D I'm sure then everyone would like to watch the LCS

So Im guessing you never played zed in your life? Or you tried him once and failed entirely. Idk you seem like the type of guy who sticks to the easier point and click champs that dont have much of a skill cap. Just one mans opinion.
