AM telling you that garen. is like. the most champion that i don't fucking know how to play against. especially him building just a black cleaver and chunking half my health with his full spin. how do I kite him when he can activate his E and Q and get some stupid movemement speed? it just depends, to be honest.
If he's fed, then probably, but if you have CC you can try and get to tower or teammates.

Yes. Garen is an anti-carry whose purpose is to dive. Few ADCs can kite and kill him solo.
Don't get caught out alone. Would you expect to be able to survive getting caught out by Rengar 1v1? Think of Garen as a tankier Rengar with less burst that you can see.

Zero Skill Tank1 votesDon't wander map alone if you don't know where he is. If you do get caught out, that depends on the champion, Jinx has chompers, Draven has stand aside etc. to give you a moment to run away to some safe spot.
Only the most mobile champions are able to actually kite Garen on their own, like for example Teemo.

Since he doesn't reach you you won't be silenced, if he catches you without needing Q it's already somewhat late into the game since he needs deadman's and swiftness to do that, at which point you should not be facing him as a ranged champion alone, your team should be there to peel. Garen has one single movespeed boost+ cleanse in his entire kit to deal with CC. It's not like he has Olaf's ult with Yi's movespeed. He's one of the guys that can get kited rather well.

As a mage, it depends on who you're playing, but if it's someone like Xerath, Ziggs, or Lux, you should never be close enough to Garen for him to be a threat. If it's a shorter range mage with no mobility such as Viktor, Swain, or Malzahar, drop whatever cc you have after he uses his Q, then just run away behind your front line. There's no point in trying to kill him, since he'll just use W and laugh off your burst. Try to keep your tanks between yourself and Garen at all times. If they're any good, they won't let him lay a finger on you.
DingleNutsMcGee1 votesTry to kite him with your slow AFTER he uses his Q's move speed increase. It only lasts like 2 seconds and has a medium length cooldown. It breaks him free of all slows, but he cant do that when its on cooldown. Kinda have to play around his Q. Big problem is that with sooo many movement speed items in the game right now, you cant kite champions like him, nasus, and darius like you could before. That used to be their biggest weakness, but items have almost completely gotten rid of that problem. Which is a huge reason why theyre so strong and viable nowadays
JRobin311 votesAs an ADC, you don't kite Garen; you run away as fast as you can. Aside from that, there are faster champions in the game such as Yi and Udyr and there are champions with CC. but even then you have to be careful if Garen builds the right build.
