Im in silver 4, and when I start playing it a bit more in ranked, Il probably make silver 3 if I bother to go for it before the season is over. This season I placed in bronze 3, apparently the mmr reset got me pretty bad, and I shot straight up to bronze 1, then at the start of placements... huge losing streak back down to bronze 3, then back up to b1 promos to silver, then back down to b3, then back up to B1.
Then I made it to Silver5, but had enough baddies that I got demoted to B1 again, then back up. Now I was at S4 83LP, but the yoyo is in effect again and Im down to S4 9LP atm.
As I climb, the yoyo goes through less cycles because my team gets less retarded.
See, the thing is... I AM IN ELO HELL. I know I can get out. The thing that keeps me from doing it is Im in college classes, and putting in study sessions that are draining me. Keeps me from playing at my A game. If I played tired Id lose rank easy. Rested and ready to go I do ok. The only problem is I know there will be a lot of 1 step forward, 1 step back, 2 steps forward, 2 steps back. Thats the hell part. Some people dont have the patience for it, and therefore cant get out of the hell, and IT IS HELL.
So while it can be escaped, its a slog through some of the stupidest bullshit and incompetence the community has to offer.
All you have to know is there is a thing called "Gatekeepers" who are trolls that play shitty in bronze and silver just to make sure anyone in their promos loses. That is entertainment for a very sad class of "people" that play this game. Between being trolled, having to play against people ranking up their smurfs, against coordinated premades, with moron 11 yo kiddie premade feeders, the occasional off game, losses can feel out of your control. This feeling of frustration can become prevalent and deteriorates ones sense of progress making any attempts to rise above feel futile.
While it may not be futile, the time it will take to see objective gains may be out of bounds for some peoples schedule/patience.
So basically Bronze sucks, not everyone there should be there, its harder to leave than you may think, some people just cant manage the time/willpower to pull it off so they stop trying.
