Burst Mages vs Constant Damage Mages

Burst Mages: Veigar Annie Syndra (these are just examples)

Constant Damage (aka low cd) Mages: Ryze Cassiopeia AurelionSol (also just examples)

People like Veigar will cc you and then completely murder you before you can do anything People like Cassiopeia require actual skill to do anything and have very high counterplay

I just wanna know why they consider burst mages and constant damage mages as both balanced when they're clearly very different.

Your fault for walking into Veigar's stun and not having MR.

And yeah, I sure feel the skill of a good Cass machine-gun hitting me every 0.75s with Rylai slow.

Surprise, all of them take skill though.

It's not that you walk into the stun. Only an idiot would. It's that you can't leave the stun area so you're basically rooted for the duration considering it's a tiny area.

It's not that small of an area. And if it's that much of a problem, just walk into it, QSS, and leave.

The reason is because after burst mages use their spells, they are very vulnerable. Constant damage mages may not have the same 1 shot burst, but they do not have a period in which they cant use spells and are vulnerable.

Tbh Veigar has way more counterplay than Cassiopeia's undodgable w poison that will always hit unless you're playing Fizz. Burst mages are also easier to itemize against. -> item 3102 will stop their combo right in it's tracks.

item 3157 is also a good option, DPS mages will keep spitting out the same damage over and over again after your Zhonya's is over or your Banshee's is popped.

They both have counterplay, DPS mages are usually very mana reliant with the exception of Azir Heimerdinger and burst usually counters them hard. Since they can't kill you before you kill them.

Burst mages are predictable, usually relying on their cc to set up the rest of their combo followed by an ult.
