Is it just me or is Lethality counterproductive?

It was mainly bought on assassins (not counting abuse cases with ranged). They were meant to snowball because otherwise they're useless past midgame. Yes, the snowball extent was a bit excessive.

But this makes it absolutely impossible to snowball, because you cannot prey off enemies any better even when you do get ahead besides just the pure fact of having items/experience, which anyone would.

Yes, the update was meant to make them less useless past mid. Most of them still are.

Wouldn't it have been better to just reduce flat armor pen amounts (and make it melee-only) instead of forcing such an awkward change to scale with the ENEMY TEAM's level? Or alternatively, have some sort of soft cap per level?

I think lethality was more to stop ADCs from abusing early game armor penetration.

'Melee only' would have fixed it, but Riot likes to defend classes abusing items they were never supposed to even be able to use as "diversity". sighs

Melee only would have basically forced ADCs to build only crit instead of crit being the only viable build.

Though I do agree that diversity support has lead to a lot of issues. Like having the class that mainly use those items be left in the dust while the abusers who were "showcasing diversity" stopped building it after it was nerfed.

Yes I'm still salty about Steraks.

ADCs are meant to build crit and AS anyways. Ranged champions were never ever meant to apply flat armor pen or armor shred.

But apparently the item scaling class should be given the most diversity in item choices.

Because it's not like other classes rely on those items more.

ADCs abuse items meant for others nerfs items instead of ADCs Thanks Riot.

Did the Lethality changes even stop the abuse cases? It looks like MF and Jhin still build Youmuu's > Duskblade haha

They still build them, but they don't seem to hurt as much anymore.

And duskblade IMO isn't a great purchase for most ADCs because of the removal of the mini Zed ult. I think it's still built because of reflex.

How is the new Nightstalker Passive. Seems decent. 100-150ish damage with Youmuu and Duskblade with no cooldown? woof

Mainly because it requires you to be unseen for a second. In lane that can be useful with proper bush control, but outside of lane you don't have many ways to be unseen for a second and then AA. At least not reliably. So it loses some reliable damage.

Ghostblade lost its attack speed active, making it less desirable.

Or anyone "abusing" armor penetration. Remember Ghostblade earlier this year?
