So every time I see a jungle ezreal, without fail, they end up feeding and throwing the game for the enemy team. So can we just all agree that it's not a good idea to play jungle ez? It's gotten to the point where I need to ban ez so that my team doesn't play him in the jungle in ranked.
I don't know what kind of fad this is, but if you lose to jungle ez, you aren't very good.
If the team comp can support it, and I get JG (it's my second pick lately), I will go Ez every time. I won't do it if we dont have something with some CC or tankiness in lanes, though.
That said--the reason jg Ez is viable right now is that he can do a level 2 or 3 cheeze gank with red buff REALLY QUICKLY. The damage is really strong, and the nature of his Q is that even if the enemy flashes away, you can often Q them long range for that last bit of damage to finish them off. Stormraiders helps with this, but it's debatable as to whether it's worth it IMO (but I'm only a gold scrub so meh).
Ezreal's problem has lately been that he can't compete in damage without spamming Q literally nonstop. This means you almost have to have Tear, which is awful early game and is just terribly easily punished by, like, literally every other ADC/support combo. Going jungle negates this, as you can skip Tear and go Warrior into Trinity Force.
It does fall off late vs lots of teamcomps, though, as Jungle Ez teams can be SEVERELY punished if they don't have a good teamcomp or don't end the game by 30 minutes. At that time, any poke Ez does is completely negated by the billions and trillions of shields and regens available these days.
Champion.gg reflects this if you look at their charts--the winrate falloff is pretty severe past a certain time. I think if more people stop just assuming Jungle Ez players are trolls and work with them to organize a toplane or support pick to compensate for a non-tank jungler that would change the falloff a bit.
