it carrys on hits. but it seems as if it is programmed as an auto attack. because with MY OWN EYES. i saw an ezreal on my team kill himself to a nasus with his Q. because the nasus had thornmail. yeah he build no lifesteal of anything and his health bar wasn't even visible.

q applies on hit effects....an on hit effect when attacking someone with thorn mail is that it deals you damage
