The game has changed, gameplay.
Lol was the best moba, without a doubt. It had a great art style, tight and intelligent gameplay, and consistent balance patches. Testament to the game's prolific success, new players cascaded into the rift by the millions, and league subsequently put a spotlight on e-sports - e-sports practically didn't exist before league. The game had flaws: balance was shaky, there was really only one game mode, and the community was abhorrent. Despite its vices, the game was certainly the most successful of the decade. Millions of summoners fell in love with the game. So what happens when something you love begins to change?
The instinct is to resist. Every change enraged, frustrated, and confused more players. So they flocked to the forums and reddit to decry the changes and vilify the directors, only to feel insignificant and ignored. What else could a player in love do?
Leave.
The less destructive choice, leave. Leave the old league behind in memory, or leave league of legends altogether.
This is my message to everyone who plays league.
It's entirely natural to feel like you've been tossed into a washing machine when something you love changes. So it's ok if people say they're leaving, or if they say they're holding out hope, or if they complain. We're all going to feel differently and react differently, but we all have the same options. I'm not saying any are right or wrong, just be aware of the one you're choosing when you make your next gameplay post. I don't expect everyone to read this, but even if one person understands this they'll be helped and I'll be satisfied.
Leave the old league behind, and focus on improving what we have. Don't compare it to previous metas or seasons, because you know things can't go back to how they were. Or leave the game completely, recognize its glory days are past and hold them in your memory. Don't let the shell we have today tarnish the memories you have of league in its prime. Or continue to dwell in your memories, holding on dearly to season whatever and whatever meta and hoping that riot one day makes a wonderful return to form. Don't let great changes distract you from what league lost, from what you lost. It's up to you, just my 2 cents.
Tldr; Complain and compare, leave, or work with what you have. It sucks when something you love changes. Just be aware of what you're doing when you make a post about the state of the game or balance.
