Was BoRK meant for Shyvanna or Kog'Maw?

I've played vs 4 Shyvanna's today and all have built BoRK ontop of the the buffs she's received. Goodjob Riot

It's meant for champions that benefit the attack speed and passiv.What are you complaining about ?

ok? Are you surprised that... like... champions build items? Or like why a champion might build specific items? Shyvana built BotrK a lot before it's nerf a couple seasons ago, so it's not surprising to see it return.

All I'm saying is that when Riot sees how overtuned Shyvanna is due to her changes and BoRK changes (possibly Rageblade changes as well) they will nerf her. I promise you that.

is not constructive enough? seeing as how large her changes were and how her passive works AND how much better her sustain will be it will be problematic.

No, that's not really helpful. It's far too early to say that something is overtuned in any regard as the patch shipped YESTERDAY so it just sounds like you got stomped by changes to her kit and are frustrated about it. Her passive was pretty much a nerf unless she has at least 3 dragons killed late game. I'm not sure what sustain you are talking about as Shyvana has 0 sustain on her kit. Unless you're talking about BotrK, then that's still not a lot of sustain. Also building BotrK means she gives up Titanic, which may or may not be what is ideal long run as Titanic is another AA reset.

Olaf is just annoying as F Kha is just OP if you don't have map awareness or are a squishy ADC and want to solo push with no vision

pretty sure those are the champions that it's viable on

yeah no.

maybe in season 4 but they're far from standard builds.

take diana for example, her meta is jungle where she buys item 1402

ekko is predominately seen as tank, and then he much prefers morello/abyssal/ludens/zhonyas, lich bane nowhere to be found even when built AP. im not saying its not an option to consider, im just saying the standard is far from lich bane.

ap ekko mid is actually the most common path players take with him (not tank anymore), and both his more frequent build and his highest winrate build contain Lich Bane http://www.champion.gg/champion/ekko

As for Diana, she is once again more played in Mid (not jungle), although both her most common and highest win rate builds do not use Lich Bane. I threw Diana in there because it is still very viable with her.

go ahead and build it, by all means.

the simple fact is AP's cant reliably auto attack, and if they can they aren't coming back out alive afterwards.

and as you go into higher tier play you suddenly see no1 buys lich bane, ever. just like ohmwrecker

do you know why? because the item simply isn't viable on anyone but fizz and or the "meta" simply shuts down lich bane. making fizz the only one capable of using to to its maximal potential.

literally no1 goes out of their way to buy lich bane, in ekkos case specifically thats due to protobelt and huge buffs to his ap kit giving incentives to play it. if you give it a longer period of time you will find people dropping lich bane for more survivability like roa or abyssal, i guarantee it, it will have an even higher win rate (because atm ekko is overtuned not that he has any epic synergy with lich bane)

and tank ekko is still played more than 50% of the time, dont confuse the split between top/jungle.

er...Lich Bane's buy rate only drops from 63 to 65 between plat and diamond, with the actual number of buys being explained by the fact that plat has way more players in it

Overall, Lich Bane places 63 out of 114 items based on the link you provided, being just below the 50 percentile. Is it the best? Definitely not, but it's also not the worst either.

To compare Lich Bane's 63rd rank to Ohmwrecker's 112th rank seems like a stretch

consider its a full item, remove incomplete items like cloak of agility and kindegem from the list

the item is in league with frozen mallet, thornmail, and wits end.

to put this into perspective, Maw of Malmortius is built less than Lich Bane easily

hell, both Frozen Mallet and Thornmail are only built half as often as Lich Bane, that's hardly a fair comparison. A real comparison would be:

Lich Bane sits between Warmogs and Morellonomicon, so it's still not the worst item by far and can't be compared with...Ohmwrecker shudders

Seeing as how shitty Kog'Maw has done in the in the past few months I thought the buffs were more towards him. Not tanky/fighter/divers like Shyvanna

BotRK is a pretty core item for Shyvana...her weakness is generally being unable to stick to a target which is why BotRK and Randuins (and I even build Mallet for lulz) are so good on her

Before it was nerfed, Blade of the Ruined King had been a core item on Shyvana for a few seasons.

It was her core damage item in top-lane, it was a core damage item in the jungle (before and during the Sated Devourer era) and it has likely become one again.
