Ideas for Yasuo.

I want everyone who reads this to basically take a step back and just look at Yasuo. What people mainly have against this champion isn't so much what he does but how he does it.

Example.

Sivir or Nocturne spellshields your ult. You get alittle frustrated but you shake it off and try to bait it out next time right? Now let's say Yasuo windwalls your ult, you get extremely angry and you feel cheated, now why is that? Is it because you got outplayed? I mean sure someone could say that but when you look at this WW as a whole you start to see why people get so mad at it. It's duration, utility and size make it extremely annoying to deal with.

These are just examples of course there are other things that make him frustrating but hopefully the message gets across. Riot should be innovative without compromising a lanes integrity.

So before I get hammered because I haven't offered any solutions let me throw out some recommendations on how this issue could be alleviated.

With Yasuo, his windwall is a staple in his kit and is one of the few things that defines his character. So what could we do to make it easier for one to play around yasuo's windwall while keeping it rewarding for him to use?

  • His windwall's maximum size is about what it is at rank 3, this is how big it stays at all levels. So instead of a small windwall that get's larger per level it's the same size throughout it's ranks.

  • His windwall starts at 1.2s duration at level 1 and 6s at max rank.

  • Yasuo can now dash through his windwall giving him max flow at the cost of dispersing the windwall (He has to click on the windwall so you don't get any oopsies). However, if Yasuo is dashing through his windwall with max flow the windwall stays up and he is granted max stacks of his Q giving him his tornado.

This could make for some sweet ass plays or outplays all while limiting his windwall's frustration factor as an oppressive tool in lane.

I dunno man, I really really fucking hate Yasuo but I'm sick of seeing champs get gutted. I want to look at a champion and know what they are what they do and how they do them, not how shit they are and that X champion does it better than them.

I'm just tired and feeling ranty and wanted to spark some conversation. So please give me your input and tell me what you'd like to see changed to him (if anything) Or any other champs for that matter. GOD DAMMIT JUST TALK TO ME.

Added ya! Friendlist has been scarce since I moved back to Alaska. Not many of em on this time of night.

^ This makes me smile.

I honestly don't see people request friends on here often.

While I disagree with some of what you said, I'm going to upvote you because this is a quality post that promotes discussion.

Now then, for my thoughts.

  • giving it your first proposed change would be worse, because yasuo's windwall stays rank 1 (so very small) until he's done maxing q and e. Giving him the rank 3 size at all points of the game would actually be a small buff.

  • With some number tweaking, I believe your second idea is what riot should do. Have it only last 2s at rank 1, scaling up 1s per rank.

  • Your third idea's first part about breaking the windwall and granting maximum flow is excellent. However, I think it could be tweaked to something like, "as yasuo stands near his windwall, he recharges 1 unit of flow per 1 unit of windwall, absorbing it and decreasing the windwall's overall size" So if he needed 200 more flow to get his passive shield up, he could stand by his windwall and suck 200 units off of it and have his passive back.

  • The second part of your third idea is less good, because that would lead to him holding his 3rd q, throwing it out, casting windwall and dashing through it, and knocking you up a second time before you even came down. Like, it's creative and nice on paper, but it would be toxic in game hah.

Personally, I think one change could be made to yasuo that would fix everything:

His windwall should not simply delete projectiles; It should throw them around. So if this dumbass throws his windwall Backwards and still blocks your projectile because it comes from the center of his model, it actually gets flung backwards, dealing 10/20/30/40/50% reduced damage to anyone it hits. It still can't hit the team who threw the projectile, but it actually raises the skillcap of the windwall and how people play around it. These would be nontargeted abilities, of course, and no autoattacks. Perhaps some QoL buffs to go along with it, but you get the point.

What if instead of deleting projectiles, any projectile which travels through the windwall has its speed and damage reduced by 50%? It could still be a powerful tool without completely negating multiple champions at a time.

All I'd ask for to deal with that annoying cancerous champion is his E requirement to kill whatever it hits or else be put on a fixed 3 second cooldown without reduction possible. If he can't right-click zippy zip through everything you can actually hit him for a change since he has no real skillshots and most of his opponents do.

Removing double crit and/or putting his shield as unable to regenerate in combat would be appropriate too.

As somebody who has abused Yasuo for LP in the past, I find the second part of your third idea rather broken. I can imagine multiple situations where a change like that would have netted me a much greater outcome. That being said you could say it still disperse the windwall after a dash through it, and instead have it a small amount of additional move speed for like 2-3 seconds. The intent here is that being down your main defensive ability, you are then forced to either engage the target or run from the target. Just a thought, though I don't think my solution is the best way either.
