"We won't make big changes since its worlds patch in 7.18"

So you're basically going to make certain champions wait to get changes just because of a few hundred people playing in some tournament? Honestly its stupid lcs should have separate patches because nobody cares about it. Nerfing and buffing champions specifically for a few hundred people is dumb.

  1. you do realise that Worlds is the largest Esports event in the world by like 2 times the nearest viewership. So this means that they dont want to mess with anything. and you say "A Few Hundred People" But those are the few hundred BEST league of legends players in the game. They play the exact same game as you. They are just better. And thats why they dont want to adjust anything major because it could create a really bad meta for the tournament.

  2. If they put LCS on a different patch from the rest of the world then it wouldnt be the same game. what would be the point of calling it the League of Legends Championship Series. If its not the same league of legends that everyone else plays.

Only picking at the second point really: usually competitive League is on a different patch from the present as is. Sometimes that causes that rework/item trend to go out of whack over a period of time. While practice plays the same as everyone, the stage does not. This case gets significant come Worlds where the conclusion of the tournament is practically 3 patches behind.

I took the OP as saying that LCS should literally be patched differently. So there is a tournament patch and a Standard patch that dont interact with each other.

This would eventually end up with the consequence where the 2 patches would be recognizably different

Last time they made big changes right before worlds Mordekaiser was 100% pick/ban.

So they're kind of loath to go through that again.

So it was terrible to watch and a terrible competitive environment.

Nobody gives a f*ck about esports. Balance the game so the rest of us can enjoy it.

I'm an eSports fan. Thus you're already wrong. Clearly you don't enjoy the game at all.

So you do realize there's an eSports page on these boards right? Players do care! And most players will imitate should it look good. And when it looks strong and completely busted in competitive, you can sure bet it'll trickle its way into the casual game on all levels. Those thousands - sure not hundreds - will create the threshold on if those champions get buffed or nerfed. This just happens to be a time where they're hoping for the best diversity that could be produced out of the event.

Back to that imitation thing though, let's see some cases where pro play or high ladder did this: Mordekaiser bot, Ziggs bot, MF support, Smite/TP top lane, Mid Smite. There's dozens more like it
