Take Away Large Monsters' Immunity to DOT?

This is just an annoying little thing that I've been trying to ignore for the past year or so, and many players who don't jungle often may not have noticed it at all. The large monsters in jungle camps (e.g. Gromp, Razorback, Greater Murk Wolf) cannot be reduced past 1 health by the damage over time of Hunter's Talisman, Gift of the Toadstool, and the Cinderhulk enchantment.

If I recall correctly, this was done intentionally to prevent junglers from accidentally "stealing" a buff when they are trying to donate it to a laner. I agree that this makes sense for the Sentinel and the Brambleback (blue and red respectively) but realistically when is the last time a jungler donated the Greater Murk wolf to his midlaner? Even last season when double jungling was a thing, the jungler always took the large monster anyway. It's an unnecessary feature which often makes clearing camps annoying. I often begin to walk away from a gromp thinking it would die to the DOT, only to look back and see it hopping madly after me on 1 hp.

As I say it's not a gamebreaking design flaw, but it would be a nice quality of life change for junglers :)

What I don't get is why exactly can red buff dot still take blue if talisman/cinderhaulk/toadstool cannot. I know it's not exactly the same but I think if it didn't it'd be more consistent.

I kinda miss double jungling now that you've reminded me...

It was the only time I got to see the jungler as a toplaner :^)

It's probably so when you get your leash for gromp or krugs then it won't get taken by a dot (Though I'm pretty sure I've seen Twitch's accidentally take it with his passive, might be because it's true damage).

it got spaghetti blanketed coded to work that way most likely.

instead of preventing them from killing the buff monsters specifically they told it "kill no large monster". i think this is just an oversight on their part that nobody really had noticed much

But twitch poison has been the stealer of my camps too many times i care to mention

or do you just mean tali, gromp, and cinder dot

How much does this really matter though? That dot is so measly that I just can't see it happening as often as you say it does, and by the time you have cinder hulk camps die quick enough anyways. I don't jungle much so it's not like I'm an expert, but I'm just not sure if it's worth the effort to change. spaghetti code means that the seemingly small change may be more difficult than it looks to change.

How about mid laners "get good" and learn to take the buffs. Red/blue don't need DoT immunity either. If I want them, I'm taking them, no sense making me potentially take another hit from them (due to 1 hp)
