Ok serious question, why is Udyr ban material when Nocturne does almost the same thing as him?

Especially since the current FOTM build uses Runic Echoes which lets Udyr push faster at the cost of dueling power. Udyr's dueling is even weaker with the Phoenix and Turtle nerfs so whenever they face off, all Udyr can do is run for it...and that's it. In the days where Udyr got Devourer it was a much closer fight but now he's got no chance in a duel

Meanwhile Nocturne has similar pushing power but doesn't sacrifice dueling power to insta-gib a wave. Additionally, Nocturne has a super long range ult to reach the enemy backline and can stop the panic burst of CC with his spellshield wheras Udyr has to flank or flash in to reach the backline

Nocturne also has extremely high burst, he insta-gib the enemy ADC and still be durable enough to fight on or disengage

Udyr's only advantage is he can run away easier, yet I can do almost the same as CDR Nocturne, I can also get just as tanky as Udyr and since tenacity is a joke now the fear totally messes up Udyr in a fight

I'm looking for actual answers that aren't full of anti-Udyr QQ because I know there's plenty of haters out there

udyr is more tanky, doesnt really care much about cc, his shield is strong and he can spam it, he is fast and has a stun. noc... well noc. lol

You can disengage from Nocturne. Udyr will stay on you forever. Also, to be relevant, Nocturne typically has to build a good amount of damage to do it. Udyr does not, and will go full tank aside from Runic Echoes or Devourer and still deal extreme damage to squishies while taking very little.

Also the biggest issue is the chase. You can very easily catch a Nocturne. Whether it be a flash to catch him on his path or just natural speed, he's easy to catch. Udyr will just mash his buttons and use bear+passive+multiplicative speed item stats to speed away. This becomes frustrating in terms of objectives and split pushing. The idea is to collapse on a split pusher, but Udyr's tankiness gives him enough time to speed out of there. It isn't infinite, however with Swiftness, he's gone.

Noc is definitely not weak, and he has other power in his kit and meant for other things, but it is very much easier to deal with Nocturne than Udyr. Nocturne engages and that's about it. Udyr can engage and disengage when he so pleases.

Noc has an incredibly outdated kit. Sure he has a "stun" (for argument's sake) but it has a cast time and a range requirement. Back in the day when he came out, not many champs had all these mobilities built into their kits. Today, almost every champ has some sort of disengage into their kit, so they just press 1 button and escape the "stuns" radius. Udyr's stun is an instant cast stun that goes as soon as you touch them. And, sure, Noc has a "speed boost"...but only for a short pre-determined distance with a long CD. Udyr has a spammable speed boost and can go wherever he wants while speeding.

Basically...Noc's kit is too outdated to be super effective (Like Udyr's) in today's current meta and champ kits.

Noc can't get away anywhere near as close as udyr With a little al udyr is super duper tanky with his turtle stance Udyr has some of the best clearing power in the game Udyr is just plain and simple the fastest champ with items in the game. Udyr doesn't need to be level 6 to get a half decent gank. Udyr can build full tank other than just the ap jungle item and still do massive damage Udyr has a stun that's up quickly with just a little cdr. I mean I don't even think it's close

Nocturne is more like Rengar than Udyr.
