Assassin update actually fulfills the assassin fantasy, the other updates were merely for gameplay..

Assassins are now going to be like the coolest class in the game?

Not saying anything balanced based, they are fine balance wise. But what kind of epic feeling and gameplay are Juggernauts, Tanks, ADCs, Supports, etc going to have in comparison to all this epic parkour stuff, intricate blinking finesse and crud? I mean, most Juggernauts don't even feel 'powerful' in exchange, most tanks don't feel like a 'steel wall', most marksman don't really feel like high skilled, finesse filled ranged fighters or blasting cannons in the way they should.

Perhaps this can be fixed merely with visual and sound updates. But to me, it feels like most of the reworked assassins will really be living up to their fantasy now. While other class/champion updates have been okay... but mostly were just some mild gameplay updates and balance. They didn't really make their fantasy feel more epic and impactful like with the assassin update.

Like, we need Juggernauts to actually feel like somebody who is coming to march up to you in an intimidating manner and wipe the floor with foes through mighty blows.

We need tanks to feel like they are going to crash into you and tie you all down.

Ashe needs to feel like fucking ice Legolas! Not a slow moving machine gun with a stun who serves the role of DPS for her team.

Only some of these champions feel kinda like this. While the assassins, especially Kat and Talon, are amazing now.

All the other updates? They feel like they were done merely for balance and gameplay sake. Very few of them really expanded on champion fantasies.

Yeah, it comes as technology changes and Rito gets more and more tools stuff gets better and better. We can only hope for the best for the upcoming patches and our baby's changes

I'm just sitting here waiting for the cool stuff tanks get in the vanguard update.

Let's hope they care enough. They aren't assassins after all.

Given what they made Sion and Poppy, I'm confident Riot cares about our lovely tanks well enough to make them awesome and terrifying.

... Sion nor Poppy were tanks to begin with.

But they became great tanks.

I suppose... But it's not right to turn a champion into something they were clearly never made to be.

Sion didn't even have an identify to begin with.

Poppy was always a sort of Tank-Assassin, but her assassination pattern with her old ult was horrendously unfair and bad design, and Riot made it clear for years that it wasn't going to stay when they reworked her. That pretty much just left the Tank parts of her kit.

Sion was Mage/Fighter, depending on how you built him. Instead of making him just Fighter, or just Mage, they made him a tank. Wtf?

As for Poppy, yeah, there wasn't much counterplay to her ult, but there are a LOT of things that are poorly designed by Riot. Even now. Also, they made her more of a tank than a fighter, and I'm pretty sure she was supposed to be fighter.

You can just FEEL the power in sion. Literally every time I hold up my Q and snap it early to catch an enemy, I feel the power in my finger as I release the Q key. It feels so good.

Yeah. Mages don't feel like powerful users of mystical arts that control the battlefield or world through their skill, knowledge, or raw power. Only like... Brand, who feels pretty much like a fire mage.

Marksman don't really feel like skilled marksman, archers, snipers, they feel like ranged, squishy damage sticks.

I actually feel like the old skarner felt more juggernaut than the new one xD

It really does feel like assassins got an update with the class fantasy in mind, whereas the others just kinda got changed.

on that note, i think jhin and jinx(minus her traps) hit the mark on what marksmen should feel like

Maybe it's just because they're my type of champion, but I feel like most of the Juggernauts deliver their fantasy fairly well.

Especially Darius. The feeling of raw power you have with 5 stacks is insane.

Mira Arya Enthe1 votes

I main Shyvana and also play some Udyr as well as Garen. I feel Juggernauts just don't live up to the power fantasy properly.

Ralanr1 votes

Garen fufills it well imo when he lands that ult. It's just...justified.

Darius is definitely a good juggernaut rework, it's just that the other 3 fell flat and the other Juggernauts outside the rework (Trundle, bear, Shyv) only auto attack and not much else

But chaining dunks, wew that's fun

Well, Brand feels a bit better after MYMU. But Zyra and Malzahar. Oh god, they are just boring.

When a fed tanky darius is walkimg up to you with dead man's plate, dont lie - you shit yourself and flash. When Graves pumps 8 crit shots to your face you feel the burst of a shotgun weilding champ.

Yea, the assassin update is a bit more fleshed out, but it's all a matter of opinion.
