Can we get requirements for a champ to be used in ranked?
Can we make some sort of limitations for a champ to be used in ranked. I hate seeing OP as hell champs on release (and underpowered champs) being played in ranked before the general public can figure out how they work.
For example, just about everyone agrees that Rek'sai was broken on release, her mobility and her guaranteed knock-up to burst was overwhelming and almost guaranteed a kill on every bank. On the other side we had Azir and Kalista. They were released with so many bugs they were unplayable (Enemies able to walk through Azir ult) and people still decided that they wanted to test them in ranked.
The trouble also extends to players who only play ranked and decide that instantly know how to play a champ as soon as they buy them. You should have to have a certain number of games played with a champ in normals before you can play ranked with them.
One of my good friends that I play (not ranked) with actually said this to me, "You know (my name), I'm at the point where I just learn champs in ranked now." And guess what he is Bronze 4. He bought Kha'zix and J4 and the first thing he does is jump in a ranked game and guess what, he feeds and loses. This is the worse attitude someone could have toward this and climbing the elo ladder.
We have all had this happen to us and it is really bothersome when someone selects a champ and says "BTW guys this is my first time Diana". Unless they just pull out plays out the ass that get lucky or the enemy is just so stupid that they get fed, then I am really disheartened about that game. Having someone pick a champ that they have never played is such a burden for the rest of their teammates because they essentially have to fight 4v5's or pray that by some act of God they end up doing well.
Now I can honestly say that I'm also a perpetrator as I have played games as Vayne and Yasuo where I have never played them before and take them into ranked because they were "strong". The Yasuo pick happened a few months ago (you know that time when he had a 70%+ ban rate and was OP as fuck) and at that time I didn't even know that E-Q could even knock people up. For the Vayne (which was a little more recent) I don't ever play her, I don't like playing her, but they picked a Nasus and I decided that a Vayne was what we really needed right now and we ended up losing.
TL;DR: I'm tired of people playing ranked with brand new champs or champs they have never played before, sucking ass, and then expect me or the team to carry their asses.
