@Meddler: Should we have some more straightforward Champions in the near future?

Rek'Sai, Bard and Ekko can come across as kinda complicated. As Rek'Sai, you gotta know how to manage your tunnels well and be well-versed in jungling; as Bard you need to know when you can safely roam so your teammate doesn't get slaughtered. And Ekko... yeah, no explanation needed.

Lately we haven't had any Champions that are relatively simple. Perhaps Riot hates "simple and boring" designs, but it works for Garen, Annie, Nunu, etc. Is there a possibility that one of your next Champions in the development pipe could be more down-to-earth?

If you need an example of "simple", here's one to check out:

Why do we need more "simple" champions in a game based around skill and strategy?

Because not every Champion needs to have super-high levels of complexity. Too many complex Champions just over-complicates the game.

Btw, no need to downvote the topic.

Highly mobile champions take away from the strategy of positioning and timing. They reduce everything to "hit the skillshot and dodge the skillshot" and 1v1 in-lane counterplays. Then why don't I just play Mortal Kombat which has alot better systems of dodging and 1v1ing? Why don't I just play a FPS? What distinguishes League from those games is the emphasis on strategy: positioning with your team, knowing your win conditions, splitting farm correctly, timing objectives, rotations, etc.

A simpler champ with less emphasis on mobility and dodging/hitting skillshots opens up more power budget to go towards things that depend on positioning, timing and strategy. See Twisted Fate and Pantheon for examples.

I don't think he means simple in how you're saying it he just doesn't want a champion with a super crazy skill set that is hard to learn and changes the already complicated game set but imo do we need another yi, garen, annie or nunu? I mean yea a new champion or low level player's to tool around with would be nice.

"Simple" might make it easier to make and balance too, so maybe we could get a double champion release :3

I actually really like the complicated champions they have been releasing, but I'm not opposed to a simple one.

more "complex" champions are more fun.

Reksai, Braum, Jinx, and Lucian are very easy and very recent champions.

Rek'Sai doesn't have 10 innates like Ekko does.
