Opinions on Diana's Mana Regen Passive?

Riot added a new change on her passive again. Basically, she regains mana on passive proc (15% AP). I feel like now there's almost no point in building ROA on her. Going Nashors first would be fine since it gives you a ton of mana anyway.

But still, I would have liked it if her passive gave her HP instead of mana. I know it'll make her similar to akali (which is the last thing riot want), but she really needs the early sustain.

Opinions?

hmm I dont know whats riot direction IS with diana is the problem - is she a diver? Is she a fighter? Is she an assassin?

Iunno, it seems like riot is experimenting with a "general mage" kind of thing.

I don't think it will change anything. Diana doesn't have too many mana problems early and late if she is smart. They also reduced the mana cost of her E so not much going on. I just wanna see her rework.

it feels a little tacked on -- making her costs less shit or her mana pool bigger would be the same thing

i was hoping changes would encourage tanky AP fighters but I'm not sure what to build on PBE

Personally i think that'd be a nice touch. It'll make her viable as a mage fighter rather than mage assassin - and she might even be playable as a top laner.

IMO rod of ages will allways be a good item on her. It lets you spam your Q, W and R forever, even if you do not proc your passive. It also heals you whenever you use either of these, and refills even more mana when enemies attack you. Though its main selling point will allways be the late-game tankiness, with the scaling passive. Rod of ages is sort of the Trinity force for mages.

Though on the other hand Abyssal mask might now be preferrable...
