Ruby Sightstone should also give some mana regeneration to compensate supports

I run out of mana too damn often as Nami, Sona or Janna, even when going Mikael + Morello. And seeing as Ruby Sightstone is going to absolutely SUCK with the upcoming buff to Greater Stealth Totem, I think adding some mana regeneration to RSS would be a good place to give supports a little bonus for actually getting that craptastic upgrade. Plus with it being mana regen, Lee Sin and Elise won't benefit from such an improvement, so they won't exploit it.

I don't know, that's indirectly a buff to Sona and that won't go over very well. However having more of a reason to actually upgrade to Ruby would be nice, I find myself leaving it until the very last thing to upgrade since the 1 extra stored ward and 400 HP isn't exactly a jaw dropper.

Why would an indirect buff to Sona be so bad? She burns out so rapidly now if you use spells in a team fight.

Trust me, I would love if Sona got something to help her out. She's the only reason I started playing League. RustyMuFFins (I really just wanted to type out that name xD) is correct, currently Sona is the punching bag of Riot so I was just adding some tongue-in-cheek to my post.

Ruby Sightstone definitely does need something to make it more worthwhile, I do agree.

To be honest, I think there needs to be an upgrade tier above Ruby. Sort of like the smite items, if you will. Mana regen item, aura item, idk. But agreed :D

Upgrading Sightstone is secondary to upgrading the GP10 item, at least in solo queue. supports usually want CDR as soon as possible.

But yeah, in some cases alternative GP10 without CDR would be much much better. (especially if you plan to buy CDR-heavy items later on). The very recipes you're listing are possibly all circulating after those threads:

Actualy I was part of the discussion from those two topics. This discussion was that without the cdr on the gold items whe have to shift the cdr to something else. Than it would sence whe shift it to the sightstone. It would solve 3 problems add ones. That's why I keep promoting the idea.

But the old GP10 items would still exist. The non-CDR ones would be an alternative, not a rework.

The current 3 Gold items are pretty ballanced right now. But some just want a little bit more stats to scale in the lategame. Now with the scaling on regeneration it would make sence they get some tools for this. Things like item 3070 where already part of the core items from champions like Zilean . And honnestly their a lot of support where this item would work too. Just think about Nami Soraka . Having a tear inside the build it would also stimulate them to go for item 3069 rather than item 3092 what actualy happends a lot lately.

Overal both item 3070 , item 2053 & item 3113 would really make sence on those support to forfill that playstyle.

I really like your idea, gives me more of a reason than to just be a ward goat,

I wish item 2045 could be upgraded in the sense of jungle items,

like one for tank, one for mages, etc.

a Damage one wouldn't make all that sense I think though, since it would be probably be rarely used, since most AD supports don't do that much compared to AP ones, who can hurt.

I dont know how you play to run oom with those items, since i play nami and janna and the only moment when im oom its after spamming every skill nonstop, maybe you max heals like must un-experienced nami players, i do tend to put 2 points in heal and the E since i hate to run oom due heal spam, if you cant survive with some heals, that bounce, there is no amount of mana regen that would save you

The reson on skill path is for all about the dmg you can provide since most champs can abuse it, like luciand and his passive,vayne with silver bolts, jinx rockets and so on

Hm, many people have pitched the idea for providing upgrades to sightstone and I think adding a bit of mana regen would be the least problematic addition as people like Lee Sin, Zac, and the likes wouldn't see any benefits and this would certainly help any and all regular supports while incentivizing them to upgrade the sightstone before the end of the game.

But in all seriousness Yousosmart, I'm questioning how you run out of mana with Janna. Janna's my go to support and I think it'd be worth considering getting Ardent Censer after your gold item-> sightstone -> boots. With Talisman of Ascension and Ardent Censer alone I feel like I never need to think about mana again. My 2 cents on 1 of the three champs you mentioned.
