They argue with anyone who's higher about how they don't know anything about the game.

In theory, wouldn't them being higher than you automatically qualify them in knowing more about the game or playing the game better than you? Instead of just screaming that "they're wrong" because "you said so", why don't you actually think about what they're saying and try to drive meaningful conversation on the point they brought up?

Ive seen diamonds call ashe OP. Ive seen plats call zed balanced.

Also, Knowledge =/= skill The thing is, a lot of people have "Book smarts" rather than "street smarts" - that is, a lot of people have a great of deal of knowledge but not the skill to compliment it.

Just because youre gold or higher doesnt mean youre good. You could be like that one LCS guy who's helios' brother and is one of worst players in the LCS.

Of course most people in the forums are gold and below. Those ranks make up over 80% if the player base. And no ranking does not automatically qualify you as knowing more about the game. For example I am Gold 5, but have only played Cass once. Another player could have played 50 games on her and done a bunch of research, but only be silver 4. They may not e as mechanically skilled or as knowledgeable about playing objectively, but they certainly know more about Cass than I do.

Short answer: No. An argument's validity depends on the argument, not the person making it.

Anybody could write a paragraph about how rank is more representative of number of ranked games played, but I'll go simpler. A person's game performance has a lot to do with winning, e.g. hitting skill shots and CSing well, and those have jack to do with game knowledge. Meanwhile, you can see guys who never upgrade trinket, face check bushes, or can't explain why Pre-season Warwick was so good who are in plat or Diamond.

And then you have silver players going on about their game knowledge, telling me Zed counters Kayle because his Q has 900 range and that Annie is balanced because they beat her in a normal game once

Low MMR anecdotal evidence != how balance works, yet half of G&B is convinced otherwise

That's probably because most of those who're above Gold have better to do than bitchmoan here and scapegoat game balance for their losses.

As someone who wants to be on RIot's balance team and who has a 180~ page AMA on League balance I almost take it as an insult when someone tells me I'm dumb because they don't agree with a statement I make.

lower ranks can argue with higher ranks but only with valid statements

I've had people in bronze be like "this build is good" and ill be like "no because this" and they will be like "but i think it's good bc this" and ill be like "naw bc this" and then they are like "WHAT DO YOU KNOW" and i'm like "Alot about this game" then they continue to ignore my advice and lose games with shit builds
