Who else thinks Azir is going to get nerfed once the pros figure him out?

I mean, his base damage and scaling is insane! Yeah, he's really squish, but his E and Ult make him relatively safe to play, especially in 5v5 fights. With 3 soldiers up, he's doing crazy damage in teamfights and peeling for himself and his carries at the same time with his ult. It just takes some practice to survive until mid-late game and to ensure that you and your soldiers are in the right spot.

What do you guys think, is he balanced, trash-tier, or incredibly overpowered in the right hands?

Azir is wrecking every mid lane in every game I play. He's pretty safe against ganks too. Very scary champ.

I expect he will be a thing competitively soon.

Sadly for me he's gonna get nerfed.

Been playing him as often as I can get him since he came out. At first people would bitch at me for picking a "shitty" champ... they dont any more.

Pretty much every one of his theoretical lane counters cant even get close to him, and he dishes out disgusting sustained and burst damage in teamfights if he gets a little lead. I always check damage dealt after games, and as Azir, I always have the highest, or close to the highest of anyone in the game.

He does have decisive weaknesses, but his windows of vulnerability are small, and the punishment for mistiming your attack is often death, or being forced to limp back to base.

Ill hate to see it, but when people start getting pro level with him, he will take over every game if he isnt toned down a bit.

lol is this even a question, especially after his bug fix?

Talamare12/13/2014, 6:41:52 PM3 votes

Why do people keep thinking he is Squish?

He is designed as a Tank! Why can't people see this!

Don't believe me?

His main feature - Arise! (Soldiers) scale mostly with level His AP ratio's are kinda of bad - 0.5, 0.6, 0.4, 0.6

To do his damage he requires TIME, The longer he is able to auto, the higher his damage.

Finally, his E literally scales with Health and it puts him INTO the fight!

Once he is deep in the enemy team, What does his ultimate do? SCATTERS THEM, It separates their teams from each other! So your team can kill half of them in an unfair advantage (5vs3 or something)

So STOP going pure AP 1800 HP wannabe burst mages, there are MANY... MANY better options for this...

Build Tanky, instead!

What do pros have to do with it? Azir is currently a tier 1 champion. He's been fighred out, and bugfixes are known to boost a champion's power way more than any buffs - just look at release Rengar vs a few weeks later. Why do people do this, make everyone look like a moron for playing a champ and doing badly, then pointing to a Faker who figured it all out and showed the numbskulls how to do it, while ignoring the buffs a champ gets post-release? Pros make a champion popular because they have an audience, but they hardly ever innovate.

he had a great showing this weekend it definitely wouldnt surprise me

Hayaishi12/13/2014, 11:00:58 PM2 votes

He's not OP simply because he can't finish off kills, if that remains maybe he won't be nerfed too hard.

I spectated a game on the main client screen where mancloud played Azir; I'm sure he's being talked about in the pro circles ATM.

Or maybe mancloud just likes Azir. Fck if I know.

More like, once all his bugs are fixed

I think hes going to be the first AP Marksmen and put some variety to bot lane, once people realize that he can do all the things an ADC can do.

Azir is obnoxiously strong. Pros have been practicing him for a while. His damage is absurd as soon as mid game considering his zoning and utility.

Disengage from that ult is too good considering his whole kit in my opinion. Knockback + wall? Should have been a simpler skill. Wall is always good utility. The move feels obnoxious if you've ever tried to flash over it when it first appears only to get pulled back into the wall and knocked away.

Riot shouldn't have given him that dash, just like heimer doesnt have one.

Destínum12/14/2014, 12:37:28 PM1 votes

I honestly don't understand how Riot thought he was good to go when the only weaknesses they could come up with was "has to auto attack" and "weak to cc" (which guess what? Pretty much every single champion is).

A0 SHIN12/14/2014, 11:22:45 AM1 votes

Yeah he's definitely on the strong side, but I dont think his damage or utility is what makes him op. I think he lacks sufficient counterplay. If he's ahead, or even, then his poke pattern chunks very hard and its nearly impossble to dodge. They probably need to change something with his soldiers' range to make it just a little easier to get away from his autoattack after Q.

He's release Orianna 2.0 in lane, always zone never die.
