I think Kleptomancy Ezreal is overrated

I played a game of Ezreal support and I took Glacial Augment. It turned out that the enemy support was Kleptomancy Ezreal. Here's the postgame.

A few interesting things. I earned more gold than him even though we had the same CS and kills, and I only had two more assists. My team got more objectives so that's why I had more gold. Kleptomancy couldn't break even with the extra objectives we got. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better comparison of two keystones on the same champion. Our individual performances in the game were so close.

Yes of course the consumables are really good. I use it on Sona mostly for the sustain. I don't think it's necessary for Ezreal though. I would rather use a keystone that brings some utility to the table instead of generating consumables since, in my experience, Kleptomancy usually gives healing and mana restore and the wards, oracles, etc... are a bit rare.

Considering it was a stomp AND he had roughly the same gold as you, its really good....

No, considering he had the same kills, same CS and only 2 less assists, the only reason I had more gold was from team objectives. If Kleptomancy could put him even instead of ~800 gold behind in that situation then I'd say it's really strong. He probably only got like 400-500 gold from it though.

Even then I would question the usefulness of such a selfish support build.

I agree with you completely on this. He built to try and get kills, not to support his team.

I consider the stomping is a valid point. Compared to you it is bad, but compared to his team only akali beats him by about 200 gold. Lux on the other hand with similar kills and assists with over double cs is 1000 behind. Usually the support has the least or second to least amount of gold. This support is second almost tied to first.

We also need more information as well because remember you said you guys took more objectives so this would include winning things like more turrets than them and etc. Also has he shut anyone down or did you shut people down. Even which creeps did you kill vs his could create a difference of about 100 gold. The difference of 800 is pretty good in my option when you lose that hard that only the support has a positive score.

Number of items generated would also be important as it does not record items generated as gold generated unless it was sold. There also is not a counter for how many times he produced the effects as well. If he proced it like 50 times in the whole game he only generated 250 from that.

Just too many factors with limited information .

I personally like it for the items not gold generated, but it is luck based. I mean seriously poke for free wards and mini unavailable oracle's elixir.

This however is still a test build and seeing more games played in succession is very important because the best build is a consistent one will it be able to hold its own in different matches or always fall flat versus some of the other types.

You also havent factored in any global gold such as the gold from shut downs....

Shut downs were in his favor since we had fed guys and his team didn't. I mean, I'm not gonna go back and watch the replay to see who got more shutdowns but I can tell you that his team was feeding hard so I doubt I got any shutdowns.

I did it on Ashe ADC, and lost lane HARD. However, before losing, i took a quick look at the klepto gold generated, and it was about 1k gold generated. Did not see how many items I got but there were multiple gold packs which may not have been added in. That is a lot of gold on a champ who did not actually proc it effectively as Ez

Right now, it doesn't display the gold generated from autos, it only displays the gold earned from the loot bags.

well, that's a free 1k, on top of the don't know how many +5's I've been getting. That said, it's probably more worth on an ADC because you'll be using spells in between autoattacks when you're fighting anyway. A setup is only not good if it forces you to do something out of the ordinary to make use of it.

Most ADC combos will involve auto-weaving between abilities. For instance, Ashe is aa-W-aa, standard trade. I get a stack there already. In all-ins, I will press Q for the steroid. I get another stack there. Ez just happens to have the easiest time to proc it (just land Q), which is something he does anyway. Don't forget, that thing doesn't really have a cooldown except that of your abilities unlike spellthief. So if a champ has a combo Q-aa-W-aa-E-aa, that's 3 procs for a single rotation.

I can understand what the Ez is thinking though. If he's an ADC, he'll have to farm but if he's support he just spends the entire day aiming and landing Q's to proc his money without caring about missing last hits.

This is false. It's pretty obvious when you use it. wtf.

OP, you understand that without your extra objectives he might have had more gold than you right, as well as the value of the added comsumable's. He was very possibly only down about 400-500 gold in reality despite the advantages of your teams snowball. The consumables can be sold, so it's gold saved or gold earned no matter what.

Yes maybe he would have had slightly more gold, which is not very impressive. My Q was slowing people dude. I don't give a fuck about 500 gold, that's my point here. He would need to be ahead in this situation where we were almost even but I had objectives, to make me say, "wait a minute, this rune seems too good"

I get what your saying. Your feeling from the game was that the slow had more of an impact. I can't argue against that and wont try to. What I can say is that to compare any runes 1 to 1 you need to have parity of build at any given point in a game. It's possible that his use of the consumables and build are large variables along with personal skill and team cohesion. If Riot manages to get balance right there should be situations where one build is better than another, but in a slightly different game the other build should come out on top assuming equivalent player skill. You may flatly be correct in this case, but I think it's too early to tell some things with absolute certainty.
