WTF is heim's weakness?

Who was the genius who decided to give him 3 turrets at level 1 and giving them their own ability that has a range outside of their own hit box?

It's hard to agree with a lot of the comments in this thread, because it sounds like people that have only ever played _against _Heimer, and not _as _Heimer, including those trying to give advice unfortunately.

As someone who plays Heimer (and carried a 4v5 and still went 10/3/18 and won in the last match I played as him), I'll give you the real deal without the b.s. or bias.

Fact 1:

Heimer is in fact very reliant on his turrets, especially, and mostly in his early game and in the laning phase.

  • This does not mean that is his only tool and that he is useless without them. This is false, and a big reason why people end up losing to him in lane when they make this assumption. He still has a stun, while not 100% guaranteed to hit, still packs a punch, especially if you are in range of a turret when you are stunned.

Fact 2:

Outside of the laning phase, Heimer is actually pretty good at team fighting, because he can zone with turrets and do a lot of damage if you are focusing on someone that isn't Heimer or his turrets.

  • He is however very squishy, very slow, and if he misses his stun or someone isn't peeling for him, you can kill him very quickly (item 3157 is obviously helpful for the Heimer, so try to keep track of this cooldown if possible or force it)

Fact3:

Heimer has a very strong ability in his Rockets, and the more ap he gets, the more dangerous he becomes (probably a duh), and the less reliant he is on those turrets, especially in team fights.

  • As the game transitions into mid game, you will see people that actually know how to play Heimer will use their ult for the turret less and start using it for the R+ Rockets instead. You can just about erase someone with an ult/rocket combo, or if you go, stun, R, Rockets.

Misconception: Heimer is hard to push out of lane, will forever push, and you just can't do anything with his turrets up.

  • This is FALSE. As a melee champion you will have trouble with Heimer, it is just a fact. Even if you take out a turret, you will still take harass for doing so. As ranged however, Heimer will have a very hard time in lane. Say you have someone smart enough to say, give the meta a middle finger and put Cait top (just an example). Heimer will be completely miserable. He will never have turrets up, will rarely be in range to be hit by them while killing them, and will be very safe to farm while Heimer will have trouble farming under turret without using a lot of mana.

The best way to stop Heimer in lane is go after his turrets early and often. He has a mechanic on his Q that slowly builds up charges to let you drop another turret, but at level 1 he can only store 1 charge at a time, and it isn't exactly quick. Killing his turrets quickly will start forcing him into having to level his Q more, which will actually hurt him more than help him until around level 8 if he keeps feeling he has to. Don't be afraid to pressure him by taking his turrets, because you missing 1-2 CS to kill a turret could very well cause him to lose 3-4 as a trade off.

He's not bad at teamfighting if he has time to setup turrets. That's really the biggest weakness. He needs time to be effective and can be out-rotated pretty easily.

His turrets line shots are skillshots (and as such dodgeable), and the targeted damage only happens when you hurt him. Champs that can dodge, burst, and escape will wreck him. Think Leblanc, Zed, Fizz etc. You Sit back and keep yourself from taking turret hits, them when you're strong enough delete him because he's a zero mobility champion.

No idea why you're being down voted.

Leblanc is the perfect example of his counter. What do you do? Build a Zhonyas? Lol. Thanks for the 50 armor wasted and a 2 second protection every 90 seconds. She can W in, bait his active zhonyas, and go back in.

You've never actually played against a good Heimer, or played as a good Heimer have you? Your responses show you are 100% clueless on the matchup, so please stop posting garbage, like saying go all in as Diana and that's that. Shows your complete lack of knowledge on the subject lol

Now that you bring it up; no, no I haven't!

I love you. Marry me. You have shown me the light.

I didn't say Diana because Diana will die. Use a champ that can jump in, delete, and jump back out. Pick someone like Diana who only goes in one way and it won't work, the turrets will rape you afterward. However, Lb can reactivate W. Fizz can spear in and pole away, etc. I'm giving you the reason Heim isn't seen in LCS or high ELO. He's a zero mobility squishy that can be deleted by high mobility/high escape assasins.

Everyone say it with me:

Mo Bil ity

Aka someone like Diana who can 10,000-0 him with one spell rotation.

It's not very hard to counter that type of style if you know how to Heimer.

Diana hits me and ults in. Drop stun at my feet, R turret. Zhonyas, flash back hit with W Rockets.

Heimer just reverse 10,000-0'd you as you put it. Going all in sounds good against a squishy mage, but it isn't that simple when he can simply stun you right there in likely range of his turrets, drop the big turret, then just Zhonyas as they start tearing into you.

Or flash back, R and rocket you point blank to death after a stun. He is by no means helpless in a turretless fight, but most people play Heimer like a turret bot instead of like a mage.

So you counter Diana by building an armor item. Lol, ok.

Besides, it'll be easy to bait the 2 second zhonyas. Q, then he's either dead in seconds or he activates it; which one?

If anything, build a banner of command or something to make yourself more of a tanky sustain that can take hits.

The armor on the item has nothing to do with why it counter the aggression, and the fact that is what you lead with in your comment shows me that you are rather clueless on this topic and have no business trying to give advice about it.

Aww, someone is offended.

Go hangout with Amumu.

You are clueless. Try sticking to Tic-Tac-Toe.

Xonra1 votes

Only offended by how little you know what you are talking about, compared to how much b.s. you are trying to spew lol

If you are going to give advice at least have any idea what you are talking about.

You will almost never have 3 turrets out at level one unless the person going against him is refusing to kill any of them which in that case is the fault of the person going against Heim. You might get 3 turrets out at once at level 3+, but never at 1 unless the Heimer is playing super selfish and setting them up before minions spawn. Level 1 Q can only store 1 charge of the turret, so in order to even have out 3 at once with a level 1 Q, let alone a level 1 Heimer, you'd have to be playing against a potato.

hes terrible at teamfighting

Any form of range utterly invalidates his Q in lane (Just destroy them from out of their range (and dodge the slow laser)), he relies ENTIRELY on q and RQ to do almost anything, and he's squishy as hell.

Yes to taking out his turrets, completely wrong on the relying entirely on RQ to do anything. If you were to play like that against anyone with half a brain, Heim would get pooped on. you never use your R for your turrets outside of laning phase unless you are trying to take an objective, and you get far more out of using RW, or RE if you can hit multiple targets with it in a team fight.

Ziggs counters Heim. His Q can bounce and hit a turret, and his W can knock them away interrupting his placements. Also since heim is fairly squishy Zigg's will probably burst him.

One of the few responses I would fully agree with and endorse for the exact reasons stated, minus the simply bursting him part, unless the Heimer has no idea how to dodge anything ever.

Ziggs will make Heimer turrets look silly, and funny enough is a reason Sion works against Heimer, because he can just slap his turrets away and out of place. Nothing is as annoying to aHeimer as having a turret sitting there, but it is completely useless, and having to use mana and a charge to put another down....for you to knock away again.

The only annoying thing about hiemer is when he goes top lane against melee champions against certain matchups he is like ryze very oppressive and unfun to play against. The mid lane champion pool however does have ways to deal with him more effectively.

Yup he is more of a counter/cheese pick to top, and fairly easy to deal with Mid by most mid laners, like Ziggs, Lux, anyone with a longish range or aoe ability.

Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Bronz5Gatekeeper. I am here to ask and answer one simple question, WTF is heim's weakness?

Nvm.

Anyway his weakness is that fact he has to set up and has not much ways to get away when he is caught unprepared. So he is quite prone to being rushed.

The person who realized it takes 66 seconds at Level 1 for him to get the charges for 3 turrets.
