Things die so fast, runes are so one dimensional, that picking the best stat hero

Mega Annie X··102 votes·19,038 views

This game is so unfun right now. It is ridiculous how boring the game has gotten. The most faceroll champs win every game. Rune diversity is so bad, people that needed a very special amount of starting stats have been made irrelevant by simply having other champs do it better with the same default runes.

Everyone dies in 2 seconds, even bruisers. It is the most hostile environment ever. This game is horrible.

They just need to roll back their damage creep.

Saianna2 votes

That's like rolling 3, almost 4 seasons back lol :P

Nenthos1 votes

They need to roll back a few seasons if anything.

Janakin17 votes

Ridiculous how many pros complain about the state of the game, yet rito doesn't seem to care.

My Waifu Vanilla4 votes

Pros biggest complaints involve the funnel strat which IS getting addressed. I don't know many pros that don't like the actual diversity in bot lane now.

Darkone70011 votes

Your actually right most pros love current bot lane meta if youtube videos from the pros are any indication, that is likely why riot is completely ignoring the bottom 70+%

redniwediS16 votes

If the game is so horrible why are you playing? Put the game down and play something else. If the game changes in a way that makes it seem fun again come back, and if it doesn't keep playing other games and actually enjoying your time.

I wouldn't dare want to complain about a game that I used to love.

Feedback should be constructive. All the OP did was complain and insult the things he didn't like. He didn't offer a single idea on how to change things for the better.

His post is the kind of spam that makes Riot avoid the Boards. I'm not saying any of it is wrong, but there is no way in hell it can be considered useful feedback.

ModAttysu The Poro11 votes

Even if it isn't directly constructive, it helps if Riot gets a general gist of how people feel overall so they work internally to figure out what is causing people to feel a certain way. He isn't bashing Riot, yelling at them to fix their game rudely, or being toxic. Sharing an opinion isn't scaring Rioters off, it's people being extremely disrespectful and not being open-minded to more than the majority opinion.

Except this thread hasn't added anything besides in a roundabout way just say what every other post like this says every day. It doesn't ADD anything to the conversation. It just fuels more circlejerk.

As of posting this comment this thread has 43 upvotes and 4000 views. If I look at another thread from say....three days ago (it wouldn't be hard) and it has.....80 upvotes and 8000 views. Does that mean that 120 people upvote the thread and 12000 people saw the thread? No. I can almost guarantee that a vast majority of the views and upvotes in the smaller thread ALSO viewed the bigger one. Making multiple posts that say the same thing accomplishes nothing besides make it so it "looks" like something is bigger than it actually is. People should confine the complaints to one "megathread" instead of echoing throughout multiple threads with the illusion there are more people involved than reality. It would also not cause the front page of the boards to have more diversity especially when I can see more than one thread that is titled "Am I the only one that thinks X" in some shape or form NEXT TO EACH OTHER on the front page. No you aren't. It's a rhetorical question only aimed at farming upvotes.

Colleges do this all the time by "bending" the truth on their numbers of enrolled students. You could say you have 1000 students enrolled in fine arts or whatever, but in reality it is only like 600 and there are a lot of students in multiple courses and they are getting counted twice. It's the same concept.

TeCoolMage1 votes

This is a valid concern and I don't know why you're being downvoted for it. It's very easy for a vocal minority to decide what the 'gist' is.

redniwediS1 votes

When a thread like this goes hot a lot of very opinionated people like to jump in and up/downvote every single post they can, in accordance with what they think rather than on the content of the individual posts.

The threads like this that end up getting no attention can be great, because you sometimes get to have a real conversation with people who very well might disagree with you, but in here we get to see the bad side of the boards.

GarySeagull2 votes

So if Riot gets the general jist, why has it got to the state it currently has? There has been MANY warning signs, for the past year alone I've read countless people say "damage is too high, this damage+mobility creep has changed the game so dramatically that quite honestly this is no longer the slow methodical team based game we all grow to love" Now it's just a clown fiesta where skill determines NOTHING in the grand scheme of the game and people are flying around the map killing others or getting killed in 0.3 seconds with 0 counterplay.

WELL DONE RIOT, YOU REALLY LISTEN TO YOUR COMMUNITY. RANK S+++ FOR EFFORT.

"Ridiculous", "faceroll", "so bad", "most hostile environment ever", "horrible".

If that's not bashing or being rude I don't want to know what does constitute as being the aforementioned in your book. All I'm seeing is an angry, childish vent.

Gorantharon2 votes

OP's post also does contain some clear factors they consider unfun.

It's not the most constructive post, granted, still has clear info.

Doctor Fillgood1 votes

Not a rant, but an opinion piece. Hopefully constructive.

The biggest issue is the sheer amount of true damage and over the top powerful champions. Damage as a whole needs to be reevaluated at the moment, and towers should be buffed a bit. Playing from behind is just unfun now, feels almost futile.
Fights shouldn't be decided instantly, it really waters down the experience for most players. CC and Burst are just astronomical right now, and while mobility is fantastic and really does make the game more fun...immobile champs suffer since they may just not be viable because of the mobility that they will be against. Abilities like Fizz's Troll Pole and Jax's....everything are impossibly frustrating to deal with and should be looked at. Things that create an unenjoyable game state for the majority of players (I can't speak for everyone obviously, including about my mention of both Fizz and Jax) should be reviewed and if need be, reworked.
I know it's a lot to think about and to go over, but to increase the quality of the game, it would be well worth it, at least in my opinion.

Also, bring back an effective way to deal with the sheer amount of toxicity in the community...the trolls, feeders...there needs to be meaningful punishment. The option to just make another account if their troll account gets banned and their main account stays safe creates a further unhealthy state of game. That is one of the biggest issues that still exists, and people abuse it further and further.
In a team based game, my biggest hurdle shouldn't be my own team.

This is all just my opinion. If you read it all, thank you for hearing me out. I'm not trying to rip on Riot or anyone or anything...but these are just things that seem to be brought up fairly often (or get brought up to me in conversation whilst I talk to some of the other players I know).

Thank you.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Because pointing out the fact that it is horrible and stating the reasons why its horrible may (in theory) help riot to move toward making needed changes.

So everyone is either on the hate bandwagon or a white knight? Something tells me that way of thinking is dead wrong here.

All I want is constructive criticism. If you can't be constructive then don't post, because it will be a waste of space. I want this game to succeed as much as the next guy, but blind hate won't fix League's problems, and that's all the OP gave.

So instead of blindly defending the OP criticize him, and offer something of worth instead of snark.

Why not start with this post, instead of calling me a white knight for asking the OP a simple and not at all white knight styled question? Just wanted to be that guy?

I mean sure, you can take it literally, or you could take it as "why not make an intelligent reply first".

I literally have a -14 post asking the OP why he isn't spending his time in a way he enjoys, and offered a slight bit of advice on how to do that. I think I've had enough replying to people with your type of "reply" for one day.

Have a good one.

You're* and maybe don't be so rude.

FilDaFunk4 votes

Since we like what the game originally was, should we not try to get it to a better state?

redniwediS1 votes

Trying to make it better is very different from playing it while you don't enjoy it. You can talk about League's problems, come up with ideas on how to fix them, and watch Riot's actions through the patch notes all without forcing yourself to play a game you don't actually want to play, and that's what I suggested to the OP.

FilDaFunk2 votes

The OP didn't state that he spends all his time in the game, just comments on the current meta. What you actually did is told him to leave if he doesn't like it, which seems to be slightly different from your intentions.

redniwediS1 votes

I told him to not play if he isn't enjoying himself. I did not tell him to leave.

Guess this misunderstanding explains the mass downvotes though.

Darkone70011 votes

I see your logic, but honestly nothing will change if you don't speak up and change it. Abandoning something Is just not that simple if you care about it. like a failing relationship that was long dead you keep trying and trying hoping something will change, and it might just if you really try. Or it won't.

redniwediS1 votes

Speaking up is a very different thing. I've seen enough posts like the OP's to safely assume he is forcing himself to play this game, and that is the best way to get yourself to hate something you used to love.

Every time we hit a meta that I don't enjoy I put League down and play something else, and come back later, just as I suggested to the OP. It has kept me playing for eight years and I don't intend to stop now.

We do need to talk about what we feel is wrong here, but that doesn't mean we have to slog through a horrible experience just for the sake of it.

DoktorKaiser11 votes

RIOT really overestimate how long people are going to take their shit, if they keep forcing this godawful meta they will be bankrupt in 2-3 years max. I have never seen less people online and I have never had less fun, season 7 seems like season 2 compared to this shit.

Edit - and yeah for the people who think they are balancing for LCS, LCS has never had less viewers and less interest overall, also the games are fucking garbage

Loads of people enjoy Crystal Meth, it does not in any way shape or form indicate that it's a good product.

So by that statement alone what your saying is: You ether are too young or inexperienced to comprehend how bad the game currently is. That, or you are just to easily pleased... which is not a good thing.

Seriously dude apart from your statement being totally uncool as my brother has a serious drug problem that has torn apart my family your statement is also ludicrous. This is a video games so yes it will change through the years and I have been playing it for 6 years ans I have enjoyed every iteration of league.

What so many people don't seem to understand Is that we have transtioned to the next generation of gamers and in order for riot to remain RELEVANT they have to cater to that crowd and the next gen gamer enjoys fast paced action like fortnite and other battle royale style games. They can no longer cater to peolple like myself or the YouTube streamers of even the majority of the people on these boards as we all are moving into our mid 20s meaning we can't devote the same amount of time like we once used to be able to. It's really simple business .

Actually I was trying to be nice and was going to write a bit of an essay on your idiological stance but 1. I could not be fucked and 2. I got invited out for a couple of pints of sweet sweet lager. In short = it was not worth my time.

But basically i was gonna say that your idiological stance on the subject is what got World of Warcraft in the state it currently is. Trying to "Appeal" to the newest generation is what effectively killed WoW. Cause lets face it, no one plays wow anymore unless they are pathetic, addicted after 8+ years of playing or just generally have nothing better to do. (does this sound in any way familiar?) Anyway, on record "Appealing to a larger Audience" actually degrades the game. Every. Single. Time.

The best and only right course of action is to adhere to your core audience. You know the type!, they tend to like a slow and methodical match where skill takes priority over the 20min clown-fiestas that are decided within the first 5 min.

Those games will never truly die, they are like super-massive stars. They will die but collapse into a blackhole and devour whats left of the entire genre. Then we will all move on over to the next popular genre and this will all repeat. So far "Battle Royal" is a good candidate. But lets face it, "Battle Royal" is not going to trump Moba's. The only Reason Fortnite is getting as much attention as its getting is because its a decent game and League of Legends is in the dog house.
